If you had the opportunity to know when and how you will die, yet you are unable to change this (even by trying to commit suicide, etc), would you want to know? Why?

Hmmmmmm,
If I knew that my death was written in stone and could not change at all.... Then it'd be like Bill Murray in Groundhogs Day! I'd go rampant!!!
Seriously though...I'd like to say that I live my life to its fullest everyday of my life and that such information wouldn't make a difference to me. Unfortunately, thats just not the case. I am making headway towards this but just am not there yet.
Having said that, I think knowing the time of my demise would allow me to change my lifestyle to maximize its potential (why save for retirement if I'm gonna go in 2 years
) So my answer is yes. (Of course this is all hypothetical, I'd probably freak out from the fact that the future is written in stone and I have no choice over anything despite such precognitive knowledge and just break down
)

Hmmm, yes I would like to know when and how Im gonna die if I had the opportunity. Why? Well, it would be useful information and I THINK I could handle it as well. Easy to say now at least...
Would be good to know If I was gonna die in a year or maybe in a week, cause then I could like make the best of my life until then. Not that I was gonna change THAT much, but I guess I would try to enjoy life a little bit more, spend some money on traveling and stuff like that

Hmm, I'd rather not know...
In this case, ignorance is bliss!

find out the exact date:
www.deathclock.com
I'd like to know for sure..... it'd be a lot easier living day to day knowing that you were totally safe until a certain date or time.

Time of Death

Well, as has been said before...
I suppose if one became neurotic about it, always keeping that image of one's own death in their mind, always worrying, then it could be a rather bothersome thing to know. A sure way to turn one into a simpering obssessive, miserable person.
On the other hand, if you knew, and you made some peace with it, it could be a great opportunity, since you would know that you were totally safe until then. It could be a great opportunity to take advantage of life free from the fear of dying. Imagine all the great things you could do with your life if you knew you were safe until then.
I would take that opportunity - mortality has had a funny way of rearing it's head at me over the years as it is, and I have personally made peace with many things. I would grasp this opportunity and try to maximize the possibilities...

I would prefer not to know when and how I am passing over. But if I for some reason got my hands on this information, the only thing I would like to know is that I had a happy life and no regrets.
Dissectica, is not a better idea to live your life to the fullest anyway, and not only when you know when to die?

Ah, a classic
No, definitely no! And even IF I could change the time/way to die, I don't think I'd want to know... Reason is of course that the knowledge would probably take over my life, to the point where all time left would be crippled and without life (sic!). And I've read too many SF/horror stories to think I can actually change my future to something better, it always comes out worse than before
(edit: this is all in respect to the topic, not at all to my general REAL life/mood.)

I totally agree with Dissectica. Ofc I wanna know, then I could kick some serious ass. You know, kill people I don't like and stuff. Also, do other stuff that I've never done before.

Absolutely no; no matter how far in the future it might be, I'm sure I would simply count the days and be unable to do anything useful in the meantime
Hey I'm not even likely to start a new book if I know i don't have the time to finish it (for example if I'm leaving for holiday) how do you expect me to react to something like this?
I like to take life in a rather childish way, as if the days in front of me were simply infinite

Well, Yberiel, of course it is, and of course I am, though there might be some limitations I have now that I would get rid of I knew my deathhour..
What I did mean is that If I knew I was gonna die in two months I might just travel to whatever country Id long to travel too NOW instead of planning to do it nest summer. And the same goes for everything, I might just take my cash out of the bank and do stuff TODAY instead of saving for the future...simple as that

Of course. Knowing nothing you do would cause you death until THAT day, one would be a lot bolder in life, try more things, perhaps learn a lot more and become more skilled, and so on.
The best work is done when one is subject to limitations.

I'd definitely want to know. It would get me off my procrastinating ass and I'd get everything in order for my death. If I didn't have much time left I would find a way to travel and see the world with Nick before I died.

Of course.
It would change my life, I think, but yes. When, and how.

Wow, what one could do with that information, No I believe I wouldnt want to know, I would probably be one of those people who became all consumed with death. Paralyzed by the thought of things to come.
