If you could travel into any period of time (in our history or our future) what would it be and why?

I would travel back in time to the medieval times and teach them how to mud so we could have REAL barbarians playing Nanny instead of people acting like barbarians. Maybe we'd learn some new things...
Um...and I'd also create a time warp to future time so that they could use today's technologies...otherwise they wouldn't have computers to MUD with...why get the present generation addicted when we could get the past generations addicted instead!

I'd head to the americas pre-1492 (way, way, way before that year, that is) to experience life in the unspoiled lands of nature-loving peoples.

Either back to the time of dinasours, or forward about 1000 years. Just imagine being able to see what is going to happen 1000 years ahead! (Cool, the cockroaches rule the world!)

Heh...ok!
Well, I would have enjoyed several timetravels through history actually.
1. First I would go back to around 400BC to get accuinted with Sokrates, just to see why he didnt messaure up to be Jesus.
2. Then, I would like to travel back to the time when Jesus was the big hit, would have been nice to get to know the guy, and see whats true about him or not
3. 15th century, Poienari, Romainia, maybe I could marry Mr Tepez or something, hehe, at least I could watch some great history take place!!
3. Then I would go to around 16th century, just to be able to read in De revolutionibus orbium caelistium (Copernicus) that the planets actually circles around the sun and get my mind twisted from the earlier thoughts I surely would have had if I lived in that time. Timetravel just to get my mind twisted..heh, yeah, why not
4. French Revolution (1789) just for have being around when great history takes place.
5. Next stop would be 1962, birth of Axl Rose - of course!
6. And last stop would be future, the time when it all comes down to an end, who wouldnt want to know what happens?
I might forget something, I usually do, but thats the way it goes.

I forgot to add that I'd have to go visit the ancient egyptians and learn
how they built the pyramids. Gotta build one in the backyard.

I would love to be able to go back to the medieval time.. That time for me is so mysterious and there is alot of myths I would love to know if they are true or not.
I would love to be among the Vikings and learn about their believes about their gods. I am interested in mythology and read almost all I can find about Odin, Thor, Freya, Balder, Loke. But even about the Greeks and Romans mythologies. It is really interesting..

Medieval time, for sure
...hmmm maybe northern Italy immediately after the defeat of bizantine empire. Wow, just imagine the river Po's plain covered by forests instead than by factories and commercial centres... Or somewhere in Great Britain... also viking lands appeal to me a lot. I admit I would be more scared by lack of hygiene and proper medical control though than by duels and wars

One moment in time that I'd love to take part in would be the victorian age and just after in Europe. The world was a much bigger place but getting smaller by the day. Reports from explorers crossing the globe would generate a buzz of excitement as we would read about the latest adventures. There was an innocence to the times that I know was false in many ways but still I find romantic. I've always wanted to be an explorer in that vein.
I'd also like to go into the future a couple of years so I can freaking finally watch those movies (Episode 3, Batman Begins, etc..) and play those games (Halflife 2, Doom 3, Metroid Prime 2) that I've been waiting for

I'd travel back to the 1920's or 1950's.
I'd like to be a flapper!

WWII is one of my favourite periods in time to study but I don't think I would want to go back there. I guess I'd want to go into the future and see what happens. Not too interesting an answer but just traveling through time would be cool enough for me.

Well I'd like to meet Jesus, perhaps Einstein...
I'd check the 1st world war, and what actually happened afterwards (Trianon)
I'd also check if it will still be human life on Earth after 500 years; if yes, I would need to check the period between, how did that happen.
And I would be curious about the new technologies too (not only IT).
