I rarely listen to music when I mud anymore.

However anyone who knew me when I started mudding can tell you exaclty what I litened to....  my Beatles collection.  They know of course because I would allways sing along on the Guild line. In fact I still have the alias

Many druids would actually join in and sing along with the songs.  And if Con/Leppo was on  it would start a discussion about Beatles Trivia.

Con actually once commented that Frank Sinatra had said  "Something" was the greatest love song ever written. Which got a poor response from Mouser a Patsy Cline fan.

Those were the days.

I don't - I either mud at work or try to enjoy some much needed peace and quiet when I mud after my 3 year old goes to bed.

Well, I listen to a lot of different music when Im in Nanny, and I don´t really have a particular band that goes along with which guild I choose to play in or kind of like that. There is of course A LOT of Gamma Ray but also very much Sonata Arctica, Helloween (only the old of course), Edguy, Dissection, Astriaal, Iced Earth and Sirius.

There is one song though, that often comes up when mudding and that it Progenies Of The Greate Apocalypse with Dimmu Borgir. Don´t know why though...but it has become kind of like my Nannymudsong or something  by now

I've never really been in a place where I can constantly listen to music while I MUD. Either the computer lab, the small little computer room in the dorms or here where I have to use headphones to listen to any music but I have done it from time to time.

When preparing for a knight attack I listened to the Pirates of the Carribean soundtrack. I also have a mix of music on my playlist that pumps me up and energizes me. Normally it has to be stuff I could sing loudly to and certainly do lip sync to. Bon Jovi, Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox 20. Heck, check out the list from yesterday and there's a good start.

Since I seem to have started this particular line of interrogation, I suppose I should at least make an attempt to answer the question myself.

A lot of what I listen to will be decided either by the mood I am in, and hence the environment I wish to maintain, or the mood the Mud is putting me in on that particular day (all my friends should fear when I have Elton John's "Funeral for a Friend" on repeat).

I do have a standard fare of soundtracks that are semi-generic but excellent for Mudding to:

to name a few...

For the more upbeat happy music I use during especially joyful spammy times, then perhaps the likses of:

I can so relate to this.  For a while I considered just running the opening credits to Morrowind in the background - one of the best soundtracks for Mudding, I'll have to try and just get the music directly to CD.

I don't actually play on Nanny.
I spam a lot.

I listen to piano music pretty frequently.
Or jazzy, upbeat, dancing songs!
That way, my mind thinks we're doing something exciting and fun!

Depends, most of the time I just forgot to load some music.
But usually the actual preference(s).. this is Nightwish at the moment.. but I just got some Rammstein too from someone, today I was listening to that... no special preferences based on race, gender, guild, or whatever.

I don't have a special music for playing MUD. I just listen to what I feel like. Here are some of the bands:

  Led Zeppelin, Uriah Heep, Blind Guardian, Manowar, Gamma Ray, Iced Earth, Nightwish, Evanescence, Alice Cooper, Dream Theater, Hammerfall, Therion, Rhapsody, Depeche Mode, Queen, Demons&Wizards, Dire Straits, Iron Maiden, Lake of Tears, Metallica, Nirvana, some REM, Scorpions, Vangelis, Black Sabbath, Haggard, T-Rex and some others I'm sure I forgot  

Ofc, I _must_ mension Phoenix and Cargo (the romanians out there know what I mean ).
Try "Pasarea Roc...k and roll" during the attacks. It was one of my favourites when I was a knight.

Mental Note: I just HAVE to get the sound theme from Morrowind! Thx Kherec!
