Few days ago I decide that is time to make a wiz, and i applyed with one of my chars. I was told by others players it will take quite a long time before I become one. Why ?

Erm, if you fit the requirements and apply as you should, I don't see why it should take long (nor have I seen it take long for that matter).

Most of the time it's not the case though, that the applicant does fit the requirements and presents the admins with a correct application (due to sloppiness).

Having a sponsor already lined up helps things move a bit more quickly too since they can square you away.

Don't bother. It's just a big click of old fogies who idle on the wizline all day and ignore you if you fail their little popularity contests.
