I remember hearing something about mtheads or something like that, you could make your head explode causing fantastic damage, what guild was that?

As to why these guilds were closed, almost in every case it was either because the guild master was absent or unwilling to fix/balance things that was needed after lib recodes, new security issues, player exploits, etc.
Some guilds was saved by hard working wizards like Slakktor saving Cthulhu, Dannoc and later on Barbarella saving Monks, or admins taking over the hard work it means to maintain a guild.

The hardest blow to my mortal playing was when Vincent let go of Hunters, I really liked that guild.

Don't get me started on hunters Sad That was quite a blow for Nanny.

As for the other guild, it was Chaos Guild I believe, by Cabal?

I think Nanny needs a guild like this again...... The biggest problem I have with the guilds in Nanny at the moment is that they all have eq or align restrictions (except Adventurers and Masters) Why not have a guild or 2 that is mediocre and has no restrictions.....  I think it would promote exploration and experimentation.  No frills.... just modified adventurers..... doubt it will happen, but I'd love to see it.

As to my question: what were the kittens power , and is there a chance to get it recoded ?

I promice that if I ever get wizzed, I will learn to code and create the Semi Demon Guild (with cat demons, fox demons and wulf demons) each with their own powers Smile

For the record, Arcane Investigators was open at least into 1994. It had an awesome power that told you the name of anything you could "examine" in any room. You could also steal things from NPCs, which was very handy for whenever some Drunk troublemaker would give Alexii's key to the gardener. You also became more "insane" the more you used your powers. It was basically a handy guild for questers.

Yeah, I remember getting very frustrated when I logged on my investigator only to find out the guild wasn't there anymore Sad
