This shows my lack of knowledge of the mud, but I have to find out about Knatul's sword of Chaos.  As I write this, I have the sword in my possession, but I'm not planning on using it or even wielding it because I don't trust the person who gave it to me.

****** tells you: come to gree
****** replies to you: free sword Very Happy
****** replies to you: thought you might want it
(I think at this point I asked what was wrong with it)
****** replies to you: no not at all
****** replies to you: its interesting to use give it a shot

I later was told that the sword has some good hits, and sometimes hits the wielder.  Still, I'm not convinced.  Not that I think everyone is out to kill me, but some people find it funny to see someone die and/or experience something unpleasant.  I also take into account the fact that I could have enemies on the mud.

Description: It is a truly strange weapon.  One second it seems worthless, and the next it seems to be a real killer.  You wonder how good it really is.

Message when picked up: This weapon feels strange. Wonder if it's really useable?

Consequently, I did see someone pick the sword up and use it, only to find that person's eq (uniques) just dropped haphazardly outside of Camelot a few minutes later.  Maybe I'm overreacting and it was just someone quitting, but usually one takes the time to sell uniques instead of leaving them lying around, especially as a knight (I did notice that the items were offered on trade, but not bid upon).

So, if someone can inform me as to what this sword really does, or assure me that I'm merely paranoid, I'd be much obliged.

I'd really want to know who '******' is Smile You should try that sword, if not with a main char, do it with an 'expendable' one. Not that I can remember (or have even known) exactly what that sword does, but with Plaque's stuff you should be somewhat cautious! Doing stuff in Nanny that makes you 'scared' or starting to sweat really are too good to miss out on, even if you don't really gain anything. I think it's so wonderful you can panic in situations even after having playing Nanny several years... (Hmmm, Plaque and Radagim, damn morons, where did they go???)

There was a lot of grinning and wink-wink-nudge-nudge stuff going on between a couple of people on the green when the sword was handed over to me.  That, more than anything else, unsettled me.  (Btw, I'm not sure what is considered polite or impolite in terms of naming names, so I just left the name out.)  That person has shortchanged me in the past, though he didn't realize it at the time - I asked if I knew any of his seconds and he said no, unaware that one of my seconds knew one of his seconds (if that makes sense).

I had to log off at some point, so I ended up stuffing the sword into a garbage bin because the shop said it had no value.  So, unless someone else brings it to my feet again, I doubt I'll have another opportunity to try it.  Confused A rather disappointing end to it all.
