I went from a fresh char to a rank 19 khorne with enough XP for plevel 2. How did I manage to concentrate? I couldn't. My head was killing me and I went to bed.

I subsequently died with that same char the following day. Man was I pissed off.
Ouch! Bad luck, but somewhat typical...

I really hope I'll be able to play some marathon sessions some day, at this point in life it's quite impossible though. But SOME DAY...

Yeah, and I died the stupidest of ways. My computer CRASHED,  completely, during combat.

Oh man, that sucks.
I'm pretty sure I've pulled a 36+ hour, but not as a khorne.. I had a very bad mudaddiction. I couldnt get enough, and once I remember decided it was time for bed after seeing the sun's morning ritual a couple times in a row... but I alternated between nanny and a place called chaos.... man I think I made 78 levels on chaos that day with one of my chars - for a total of about 110 levels on that game.... that game was almost as addictive as nanny... for it's combat alone

And my most recent khorne (rank 43 and second-longest daemon name) died in PK combat a few weeks ago, 'cause my connection decided to freeze up as soon as the fight started (typed "quit" about 50 times as soon as I noticed the unresponsiveness, but to no avail), then it went completely dead and did not let me back on for 3 minutes.  Until that point, I was batting Incense around like a cat with a mouse.  *sigh*

I had a back-up khorne (rank 16 with bite 3) ready for an event such as this, but have no inclination to rank him up for a while.  Khornes are still fun to PK if you know enough kills, and have the skill to finish them fast.  But too hard to PK if you don't.  I would rather see the guild un-nerfed, so that it is accessable to anybody, not just hard-core players.  Exclusivity is boring when taken too far.

Ouch! Sorry to hear you lost that a high khorne Sad I have never died with such a high khorne, but each death with a khorne above a certain rank is terrible... First khorne I created, I managed to get killed at rank 19 (over 11 years ago). That felt just awful, and you get that feeling that 'I'm finished with this crap game'... Well, I got over it Smile

I was mentally prepared for such an event.  I knew such a thing would eventually happen, either because of my dodgy connection or because I was PK... in this case both.  I was happy to have an excuse to stop playing and go do something more productive with my time.   Razz

no there's not  tongue I work - but I'd get just as much money from mudding as I do slaving away all day where I am working, therefore mud = win

Being a parasite is not productive.

My longer playing session, with one char that is is 23h and 40 mins. Damn i wanted to reach the 24h barrier, but I was soooo sleeeepy!
Ah and that was of course with my knight, so I actually sat all that time in front of the computer. There were enough people in the lab to go grab some food for me as well.

I also spent 36h mudding, but then I switched chars and I also think I made a few small breaks while trying to grab something to eat.

What can I say, being a student rocked !

Thought I'd post this, from end of July 2009 excerpts of a chatlog with Vulcan:

 7:08pm
-=-=-=-=-
Me: Didn't think I still had it in me to pull this shit
Vulcan: Pull what?
Me: Finger recluse
Recluse the advanced Practiced Hunter (neutral)

 He is a puny mortal.
 Recluse is a secondchar.
He is logged on right now and has been so for 22 hours 51 minutes 15 seconds.
 Recluse has no plan.
Vulcan: Yikes
Me: I know
Me: Not done a session anywhere close to this since 2003.
Me: My record is 25 hours.  May as well try and beat it now.
 7:42pm
-=-=--=-
Vulcan: I conclude you are having fun with the guild
Me: Not bad so far.  I think it's more that I'm hooked.  I've gotten an opportunity to put all my accumulated knowledge to the test.
Me: I think the real fun will start when I get some of the better powers
Me: I've also stayed logged in because [censored] reward on me.
Me: So I'm milking it for all its worth.  Got 99%  against human males.
 8:00pm
-=-=-=-=-
Me: First bonecrush with bare hands Smile
Vulcan: cool

 12:21am
-=-=-=-=-
Me: I would have way exceeded today's progress if I'd known about the buying items, or bothered to look at it.  As it is i've almost caught up with the highest player.
Vulcan: yeah
Me: It seems I keep breaking through into these hour-long plateaues of calmness where I don't feel any real tiredness or desire for sleep.  Maybe my body is being forced to tap into resources because of how I'm treating it.

 5:28am
-=-=-=-=-
Vulcan: you're still going?
Me: seems so...
Me: I've got to break down sooner or later
Vulcan: yeah don;'t get yourself sick
Vulcan: My record is 73 hours straight assembly programming on a Commodore Amiga back in 1989
Vulcan: don't plan to repeat it
Me: I guess the lack of sleep showed in the work?
Vulcan: well, it was removal of software protection in games during was called as a copy-party
Me: Normally something comes up to make me stop... don't know if you've ever had that experience when reading a fiction book, you have to "come to a certain place" in order to feel like you can put it down...
Vulcan: yeah, or watching a tv series
Me: Um, not sure that's the same thing...
Vulcan: for me it is
Me: I mean put the book down when you're engrossed in it.
Me: You watch a whole series in 1 sitting?
Vulcan: some TV series suspense just never lets up
Vulcan: try watching a season of 24
Me: ok
Vulcan: you must be the top hunter now
Me: Well one guy is a bit ahead of me grade-wise.
Vulcan: who?
Me: kelefane
Me: Now I just dread to think that this session ends with me dying
Me: I mean my  char, not me from lack of sleep Razz
Vulcan: just take a break if you';re concerned
Me: one of the hooks, though not the whole reason, is the [CENSORED] I have, that goes when I quit.
Me: If I "took a break" I' fall asleep and my char would statue off.

 7:00am
-=-=-=-=-
Me: finally I stop.  34 hours in total.

Thats a long session. Don't know if 'congratz' is something we'd say to it Wink Long ago were the days when I could stay up that long.

Marriage has a way of slowing that behavior down Wink
