Okay, let's start confessing Wink- what is the longest duration for which you have been logged on in Nanny?

Of course, there are people who switch chars a million times and are really playing for hours and hours even if any one char is logged on for a short amount of time.  And then there are clients.... (gasp!)

So let's make this precise - what is the longest duration you have been logged on with one char without quitting without having a client keep you logged in?

If I remember right, my longest was 20 hours when  Aeneas was a young knight. I suppose I wasn't really constantly running around. I didn't really realize I had been logged on that long until Fortune logged on and sent me a tell saying "20 hours!". For a few minutes I had no idea what he was talking about. When I realized, I asked myself what I was doing...and quit Wink

Alright, I'll play too!

My longest would have to be right around 20 hours as well.  Even though I had gotten to that mark a few times I never seemed to be able to break the 24 hour barrier (I know some who have).
The episodes that stand out most in my mind were quite a few years ago when I was off school for a couple of months (not long enough to get a job) and had enough money put away to cover costs.  I remember playing for "too much" time most days and a few times playing through the night with the only cue to stop being the morning sun streaming through my windows.  In my case it was Phade who sent me the tell of "20 hours!?"

Heh, good question...

I think I've never played really much in one go... Possibly in my final year at university, some 12 years ago, I did some night play, taking my bicycle to school in the evening (8 PM?) and going back home around 3-4 AM...

I've also been logged on from work, more or less idle...

So, let's say my 'record' would've been about 8-9 hours, at the most 10 hours, but never active for more than 8 hours...

The 'normal' session would rather have been 2-4 hours, but then pretty consistent throughout the years.

20 hours sounds about right, can't say for sure it's been more so I leave it at that.

I do know Ravagon that crazy old khorne could play for well over a day, I think he played for 36+ hours once or twice if not more. When he died he just rejoined until he got Hellblade fast, then maxed it out and didn't stop playing until he more or less passed out (or died, which ever happend first *grins*).

Hey! This may be what it takes to be a 'great player' Smile Smileys aside, I really do admire such stamina... At my night sessions,
in the end as the light came back outside, and the birds started to sing, I
wasn't really fresh in my mind Smile Khorne would NOT have been the best
choice of guilds then!

My first ever mud session back in 96 was probably my longest, Dannoc, Sindel and Deathjester got me hooked after a programming assignment in school at around 6pm, when Dannoc got back to school at 11 am the next day, I was still playing Wink I think it became around 18 hours total

Anduril pulled a 36+ hour too when he died a khornes death, played in the same puter room as him occasionally during that time, and the mud-odour defied the air-ventilation I can tell you that much Wink

The worst case of mudding I've heard about is Daddy who, according to himself, stayed awake with coffein pills and played straight monday to friday until he couldn't move his fingers

i would gladly let my client keep me alive for as long as it takes to break any records  ...  that is, if the admins won't mind

May i ?  Smile  May i ?

Client? Tsk ... you have to play khorne for real, non-stop if you want to break any kind of worthwhile record Smile

Look above, 36+ hours as a khorne and you can start pounding your chest *grins*.

You people are insane.....too hardcore for me....

I think the longest I have ever went was maybe 5-6 hours with random idlings throughout.  I love the game, but where do you find the time?

But then again, I started Nanny AFTER the golden age...

Well, very few people would have the time except when they are on a holiday (not that this is the best way to spend a holiday). Such long playing sessions usually occur when the addiction is at its peak. But such periods usually last for a short time and do not recur (at least for most people). And of course, it is a good thing that they do not recur. But there is no reason why that should stop us from bragging about our past dementia and perhaps even reminiscing about the "good old days". I'd estimate about 14 hours for my longest play session.  I, too, started on Nanny just a few years ago, so half the time I hardly know what anyone's talking about.  Wink

My longest session is quite recent - just under 25 hours.

I'm impressed Smile How did you manage to stay focused? And did you reach some 'cool' goal, like hellblade at 2000 kills or something like that???

I went from a fresh char to a rank 19 khorne with enough XP for plevel 2. How did I manage to concentrate? I couldn't. My head was killing me and I went to bed.

I subsequently died with that same char the following day. Man was I pissed off.
