What do you like the most about where you live and what do you like the least about where you live?

And again I'll reply to the question first or else I might forget. :p
Hmm, Colorado. I love the mountains, I love the outdoors and the variety of shops we have here and the fact that I can go grocery shopping at any hour of the day or night.
I love the true Coloradoans, the ones that let you in front of them in traffic, that wave when you let them in. I love the psycho outdoorsy Coloradoans too. I love that even though Colorado is a conservative state everyone pretty much has a "Live and Let Live" attitude towards life.
I hate the fact that there's no ocean here. I really miss having it so near me like I did in Monterey and Hawaii. I hate the people that have moved here from California and Texas and drive like they're the only ones on the road, either cutting people off or driving slowly in the fast lane. Coloradoans never used to drive like that. *sighs reminiscently*
I also hate how crowded it's become here. Traffic gets worse and worse every year. I miss the small town feel that Aurora used to have.
All in all Colorado is an awesome place to live, even if it isn't Europe.
/P =)

Well, I thought I had better answer seeing as I had asked the question (indirectly!)
Things I like about the UK
:
The countryside
- I live in the south east of the UK, which is the most crowded, but I still love going for walks in the woods, or along cliffs by the sea. There are lots of very picturesque views and places to visit. Although, obviously they get more abundant the further north you go!
The History
- I'm fairly interested in ancient history, anything up to medieval times. The UK has a lot of interesting historic sites (as do a lot of countries in Europe I guess
).
Size
- The UK isn't as big as a lot of other countries, so everything is within a days drive.
Things I don't like about the UK
:
Crime
- Crime didn't used to be too much of a problem, but it is definately on the increase. Especially violent crime.
This includes things like road rage... Don't get me wrong, its not like it isn't safe to go out after dark or anything like that. But crime is definately on the increase compared to how it used to be.
Peoples Attitude
- Most people in the UK are pretty friendly, and if you ask them something they will usually try and help. However, there is a growing number of people who only look out for themselves and don't care about anyone or anything else.
This includes driving, and I can completely sympathise with you Poogie. It doesn't take much for people to thank others for letting them through etc, but it seems to happen less and less. It seems to be people driving in the centre lane, rather than in the outside lane that occurs most over here. I'm not sure what the rule is over there, but over here you are supposed to drive in the outside lane unless you need to overtake. So basically it turns a 3 lane road into a two lane road with noone in the outside lane at all! *sigh* Again, I have to say that things seem to improve the further north you go...
Unfair Taxes
- I actually don't mind having a fairly high tax rate, as long as it is spent wisely, which I think most of the time it is (on public health, public transport, roads, etc.). However, some things do seem a bit unfair about how they are taxed. For example, having both road tax, and tax on fuel. Surely it would be fairer to only have tax on fuel, so you get taxed more if you drive more. *shrug*
Overall, I think the UK is a good place to live, as long as you can put up with the growing number of people who don't care about others and only look after themselves. I'd much prefer to live in the north of the country, but then you get the problem of not being able to find work, etc. *sigh*
I've probably missed lots of stuff, but I think this reply is long enough already!

Don't mess with Texas!
Besides, people drive like idiots ALL OVER THE PLACE. You're unfairly accusing Texas of driving bad...and its not just them, so don't mess with Texas!

Hmm, as you all know I'm Snapple and I live in Bucharest Romania.
Ill try to summarize some of the things I like/dislike about the city/country i live in. So, lets start with the things I like:
1. Smokes and alcohol are pretty cheap. You can easily drink yourself into a coma without worrying too much about going broke.
2. Bucharest has very nice pubs and discos, especially the ones situated in the center part of the town. If you have any friends, theyre quite enjoyable.
3. Romania has both mountains and a seaside, so you kindof have a choice on where to go both in the summer as well as in the winter time.
4. Cheap hookers.
Now, about the things I dont like:
1. Genetic diversity is very low. The number of blondes is very small compared to the total amount of the population. The same goes for people with different eye colour than brown. What does this mean? It means that the green eyed blondes know they are rare and are acting accordingly!
2. The country is still ran by the old generation (and here I dont only mean politically, but also economically) that was braught up in a communist regime and still acts according to that mentality.
3. The probability that a girl you meet here is more interested in your money than your soul is significantly higher here than in a stable western society (due to the profound changes in the structure of society and general instability).
There we go, thats what I can think of for now

Yeah Snapple had some very good points there. Now...about those green eyed blondes
if they're all after your money...well...you can always find a cheaper hooker. Heh! Living in Romania certainly has it's advantages, hookers are really cheap. yuppy.
Guess that's the reason why superbe blondes don't live here anymore
That's sad.
Okie...enough rabbling for today.

I think if you're into cheap hookers, you yourself lower that probability more than any change in the structure of society

Well, if they have Texas license plates then I don't think I'm unfairly accusing them. I should have stated that they're the rich Texans because I met some really nice Texans when I lived in San Angelo. It was the rich bastards that came up here to go skiing or something and never left. They had all the time in the world and drove whatever speed in the lefthand lane. The law says 55 but courtesy says get out of the way when someone wants to drive faster than you and you're in the lefthand lane.

Well, I really do like to live in the north part of sweden and although I hope to be able to see many different places in the world..my heart will belong to the forests, the lakes, and the nature of the northern part of sweden. There is a certain calm and quietness around here as well that I like very much. And I really enjoy rain and snow more then sun so Im very happy with the fact that we only have summer for three months and winter for about five months.
What do I dislike then? Well, the only thing I can come up with is that it´s a far way to travel whenever there is a concert to see

Been meaning to get to this for awhile just been a little busy.
Quote
Don't mess with Texas!
I second that!
I've lived in Texas my whole life. I learned to drive in Houston and
I'll let you in in front of me as long as you haven't been an idiot to
get in your current situation (eg known a lane was going to close in
two miles, yet drove in the lane until you are about to hit a
barricade) and I'll wave if you let me in. Heh, I'll even wave if I
cut you off.
Actually, I have found driving style differs
greatly from city to city within Texas. I could go on about the
differences quite a while, but I won't.
