Who out there remembers their greatest party ever?

I, for one, remember 2 such instances vividly.

The first great party was in January 1994, when I wizzed my first time. My name was Wanderer back then. I was in Mage Guild, which was based on the Isle of Roke. My alignment, for some reason, was evil and I could not step foot on Roke to advance to Wizard. I joined up with: Honey, Kira, Musten, Shaolin, Amber, Butcher and Bonnetane. We took on Qqqq's Chemist and killed him in one round. We did that so that I could get the good potion and fix my alignment. It was a fun battle and my reward was being able to become a Wizard.

The other party was probably around middle to late 1994. I partied with Jimm, Bonnetane, Runaway and another knight which slips my mind (maybe Rush?). (I believe I have a log of this somewhere and will look for it sometime) I was once again Wanderer, as Wanderer had been demoted earlier in the year and Dolph was my wiz at the time. I was back in Mage Guild and we went on a pure killing spree. We were armed with 2 Grams, 2 Sword of Infinitys (way to go Carrion Wink ) and we got Stormbringer in our spree. We must have gained over 100k apiece in about an hours time, or less. I was using my mage staff to store spell points, which effectively gave me about 400 spell points. Back then, lightning was the premiere spell in Mage Guild. We were hitting massacres and bonecrushers constantly. This was back when heal others was used on rapid fire healing (I believe there was another note near beginning of forum's lifetime documenting that 'feature'). I don't think I had ever had so much fun as when I was in that party.

Tell us more about YOUR greatest party.

Good times, but someone always mails you about boring code to add or remove from your good equipment Wink As I never party really with other players, the most memorable partying was probably with the party you could hire near the bank in Lars town. One clerk, one warrior and one mage if memory serves me well... Me plus those three rocked, and I was able to break a XP record pretty quickly (not officially though...). It WAS much more fun in those days, unfortunately there were people taking a bit too much advantage of features and bugs etc, so changes were inevitable I guess.

For me it's probably the time Qqqq opened up his, then new, quest 'Raid a castle' and we all gathered up to do it for the second time, so the party was pretty large. Amongst many, the three amigos were with me, especially Horn, which this lovely memory is a tribute to.

Anyways, the danes, drunk as usual, where all playing from the same place, the lab at school, and at a later stage of the quest, Horn kinda 'disappeared' on us (as in not responding) and shortly after died at the hands of several of Qqqq's malicious occupants.

It took a while for us to figure out what went wrong, until the other two danes, laughing, explained to us that the drunken dane known as Horn, had simply fallen off the chair in his stupour and couldn't get up fast enough *chuckles*.

In fact, another fun party was another time I did Raid a castle, with several other people, in particular Lonewolf ... while I was playing my vampire.

We faced a room with countless of guards in it (the kind that makes you go ooomph!) and I boldly offered myself to try to fight them, seeing as I was the biggest punch-bag at the time.

Anyways, I was properly setup for a fight (all available guild powers bestowed upon me by my multi-guild party) and headed off to do battle with the horde.

Well, suffice to say, the battle was short, and I could only gasp at the insane scroll on my screen when the massive group of guards turned to attack me, ridding me of all my defensive protections and killing me long before my wimpy even thought of saving my sorry arse Smile

Other than that, any party with Eddy was a blast and it will always be one of the key memories in my life, whenever I think of Nanny.

I seem to remember seeing, if not still having, a log where several high level players (yourself included, Kherec..as Arraquwain [i think]..and possibly the three crazy and wild danes, maybe Vulcan or Kairi in one of their many forms). I believe it was Qqqq's quest...something about a room full of elves or maybe it was Taren's one party area.

Suffice it to say...Qqqq's cookies were involved. I think almost everyone in that one died...horribly.

I remember that Kherec, I think we laughed about poor Horn all night. I can't remember if I was on with Lys or Melee, but I do recall how furious you were at achieving 2 deaths in seconds (Yay death save!).

And there were all those cookies laying around the gate inside. That's a crazy quest, but great fun for the strategists in the Mud.

Yes Snafu, I did present that log for bug-hunting, so your memory serves you well ... about Vulcan and Kairi, I think it was one of Kairi's seconds who were with us and not that many died, really Wink

And yes Lys, I do believe you were with us as well ... most of our group where, except Eddy.

I'd have to say that one of my greatest parties occurred with a couple of hitchhikers.

I really don't remember what the circumstances were at the time other than it was me and someone else rumaging around Raque Island when lo and behold, Snafu, Avis, and Iceblink appeared in my backpack.  Snafu kind of served as my "conscience (as much as he possibly could)" and guided me around the island.

One of my other favorite parites was a wizard party that I got to lead with about 15 other wizards.  I forgot for whom we did the quest, but someone hadn't done Secret Police, so we decided to get someone a membership.  It was a fun trip, though we did suffer many deaths.  Quite fun, nonetheless.

I actually remember 2 fairly fun parties, the first, was when my DP Khorne decided to go do Raid the Castle, don't remember who all was in it, but I know I had several minor heart attacks when I got down to 23hp, 8hp, and then once at 2hp.

The second, was a personal challenge with Ysidro, on huge mob farming, and we were comparing several kills we had done, and he commented about Ppannions new Hydra. Told me he only hits for around 15-20's, but he bet me I couldn't beat him. Me, being my druid self of the old school type, promptly asked him to join party and take me there. Hence began a 2 hour solo fight on this mob, with Ppannion him, and another 2 wiz I can't remember watching me. Turns out, the mob had 7k HP to begin with, and every time you killed a head, it split to 2 heads, and healed 50% of his life back. Its also important to note that each head hit for 15-20. All those that have played old school druids know we had full tomes, and our spells and abilities kicked butt.

Well, to make a long story short, when the mob was in vweak condition I see Armageddon announce imminent downage, I almost cried.

I remember those days. Too bad heal others got nerfed. There were so many things a pair of players could do with a good heal others spell Wink Very Happy
