Is there an item left over from your childhood that your cherish especially? Stuffed animals, a blankie, etc...? And if you want a bit more of a challenging part to the question, what kinds of memories and/or feelings does that object evoke?

I am not much of a keeper, I must say. I do have a stuffed animal I got from my sisters boyfriend at the time, and a Snoopy (I believe his name is in English) that my grandmother made. But they do not give me any special feelings or memories or so.
But I did have an hourglass I got from a man in Japan when me and my family was there. I was around 4 years old at the time. I was really happy over this hourglass and the man who gave it to me, I loved. He was a really sweet man.  It had a nice brown frame and beautiful red sand. When back at home, we were in Japan for 6 months, my little sister wanted to take a look at it. She went to  my room to get it and fell!! My hourglass broke! And how angry I was at her.. That is the one thing I would love to still have from my childhood, as a memory from this man.. But I have the memory left from it.. It will have to due..

Short answer: No.

But... I am the typical 'collector', and have a lot of stuff 'deposited' at my parents' home. There are hundreds of comics, thousands of stamps, a lot of coins and more. I've collected stones (those beautiful and those coming from some famous person or location), pencils, match boxes, other boxes, toy cars, other toys, erasers, gizmos and so on... But nothing I really connect to...
(And everything in good condition, except for the things my little sister has put her filthy little hands on! )

I do have a teddybear somewhere, actually my parents have it. They say I loved it a LOT, it was my preferred toy ever. I like it, it surely does look very nice, nicer than these new toys that are around these days. It has nice warm eyes. But its getting real old now and the fur started to shed (not sure if this is correct, just made a quick dict check but you get the idea).

The object that I've had the longest and I hold most dear is my guggie. My great grandmother gave me a pink blankie when I was a baby. For some reason, I called it a guggie (even as a baby I said 'guh-guh' when I wanted it) and for several years I dragged that thing around wherever I went. It's tattered and full of huge holes now, but it will always be my favorite guggie.

A few months before I turned 3 I was out shopping with my grandma and my mom. We went down a toy isle and there was this teddy bear that I picked up and wouldn't let go of. They got it away from me and bought it secretly. It was my 3rd birthday present and he's gone everywhere with me, to the uni, to the Army (although not to basic training). Every time I have been upset and crying I go into my room and hug him and it makes me feel better.
I'm not quite sure when I named him Cinnamon (or maybe someone else in my family did) but he is the only toy that sits on my bed. I have a few others shut up in the basement of my parents house, ones that I got when I had the chicken pox and my tonsils out and such but there isn't any bear like Cinnamon. (And to think he'll be 25 this year!!!)

Hey,

I have a stuffed dog my dad gave me when I was 6. It was during the revolution and my dad being in the army had to stay away from home a lot those days Sad. I remember him bringing it to me on Christmas Eve. He's still my favourite puppy in the whole world and i carry it around everywhere as a good luck charm. He's been to all the camps and trips I've been to and will continue to do so even if I turn 80.

Hey, I love that dog! The hardiest toy I've ever seen... It's been thrown against the walls, kicked, used as a football and it's still in top shape Exclamation
