Some time ago I was looking for an old mud I'd been playing and couldn't remember the address for. While looking for this mud my eyes stumbled upon an interesting description of muds in general:

 

Some players are said to have met their real life spouses while playing the game.

 Oki, so maybe the guy was talking about the girl sitting next to him in the ICafe..but it is still making me wonder.
 Is it wishful marketing or is there some truth to it?
 Let's not talk about wives or husbands..but maybe girl/boyfriends, good friends and other kinds of people you really bonded with just by finding them on Nanny!
 I have make such friends and I'm proud of that!

I have never met anyone in RL that I had met on Nanny first, not even as a 'friend'. FOr me it's the other way around, I have friends in RL that also do or did MUD... I've had some thoughts about joining the Nanny party (I _do_ live in Linköping!), but I haven't had that much incentive for it yet... There are one or two Nannyers that I _think_ I'd like to meet though...

I don't know if anyone from Nanny met someone on Nanny first and then met and then married... I think there are a few that are dating IRL post Nanny experiences though.... Is Gabe and Mami one of those?  Or did I read into that worng and that's just Nanny? OR did that come before Nanny.... Oh and Snaffy also....

I know its not strictly Nanny related, but I met my wife on ICQ. We just stumbled across each other, and then after a few days realised that we only lived about 5 minutes walk from each other! Talk about fate!

I do know of at least one couple that met on Nanny - got married - got divorced.
Not sure if that falls under the category of "romance" or not, but it certainly falls under the category of "real."

I should also mention, before Ladychris criticizes my inherent maleness, that I do have a sensibility for romance - and I have the scars to prove it!

Oh I'm a romantic alright ... just don't believe in 'falling in love' over the internet. I'm the same with phone-dating, I can't fall in love without meeting a person and get the whole person (body, mind and soul, all parts equally important for me to actually fall in love).

But that's just me, I wouldn't dream of denying people the opportunity, if it's enough for them, I just couldn't fall in love in one half of a person, without getting to know the other half

I do know a guy that met a girl over the internet and after like 2 years of chatting on IRC they live now together, for like a year, almost. Shit does happen, just a coincidence. It can happen to anyone.
