I was on last night playing my heart out, Decided to go for a decent kill, holding a favorite weapon of mine, So I bang away for a while. HP/sp drop normally so I run over and heal up nice and quick. Run back have my favorite little NPC nice and low... VWS HP floating around 140 thought BOY im doing oh so well. AND SUDDENLY hes dead, I mean so fast I dont even realize it until I look at what happened and proceeded to check my pants for any accidents.
Did not really see a place to post this, but I found it bringing a smile to my face again and again and....(I hold Snafu partially responsible *tease* as trying to keep one eye on spammers LMAO,) and you know when you have a really close call you think wow...I made it....wow I didnt lose that massive amount of xp np guild level stats......
So here it is for all to get a smile over....and know this my pants survived, but it took quite awhile for my HR to go back to normal.
** HP: 104/204 SP: 104/204

> The monk moves quicker than your eye can follow and suddenly he has planted a dozen well placed blows on you. Yourself groan in mortal pain!
** HP: 14/204 SP: 104/204
** The wiry monk is in deplorable shape.
The wiry monk's staff glows momentarily and seems almost to be striking you on its
own!
** HP: 11/204 SP: 104/204
** The wiry monk is in deplorable shape.
The wiry monk swings his staff and connects with your right wrist.
The wiry monk died.
You killed the wiry monk.

Good subject, and a good story! I have some memories in this direction too, and one was when one of my characters was killing one of Zander's first guard (the gateguard, maybe?). Must've been a low ranked khorne I was playing atm... Both me and the guard was getting real weak, when I suddenly realized that the connection was gone! The last lines I saw was that the guard was deplorable, and I was at 1 HP, AND that the guard hit me with one of the lightest punches, either the 1 HP one, or the 2 HP one... I just couldn't remember which was which! Pretty satisfying when I got the connection back, that my char stood, and the guard was down

Great story and yes blame it on me
As for Khorne, I have many stories of going linkdead..some with successful endings..and a couple without
Linkdying..the probable most likely cause of death of Khorne members...damn no wimpy

Ok, I hadn't thought about it but close calls is a good subject, so I have one to share as well.
About 5years ago I think it was, I was still advancing within the knight's guild and was looking for a good place to train my parry skill. I had been doing pretty well and was feeling fairly confident at the time. I remember one rather mischevious fellow knight suggested I train parry on the Lemming in Banshee's area. I thought "well, how tough could a lemming be?" So I went for it.
Thank Lars I had a heal with me at the time! For those who don't know, the lemming can hit several times a round and also block you from leaving. Let's see, I think I had around 202 hp at the time, and that healing - so about 403 hp damage later I somehow managed to slip past the lemming and escape... right to the gnats!
My only saving grace was that, even back then, I was known to frequent the Chefs' restaurant! Single digit hp scares me, 1hp is absolutely terrifying!

I don't have a specific tale to tell, but rather circumstances over the years that fit the subject.
Not sure how many times, but closing in on 10 times atleast, I've been a little careless with playing and gone too low in hp, as in < 10 hp. Then I've been passing by aggressive monsters or running back to the monster I was killing with < 10 hp because I forgot to heal and they've MISSED! (thank god) and I've been able to panic and run back to heal.

Hey, not only Knornes suffer from it, my viking was killed by Bladedancer for same reason... but at least she was not kicked out of guild

This is not the right thread for it
but I do remember meeting the beggar first time. He killed my leper the first time, and I was high level and guildlevel (not sure if plm already). I went to the pub in 7 hp or something like that :p
With khorne I managed to run away in 0 hp I think 2 times.

Speaking of 0 hp ... I think I've been at -1 for a split second then slowhealing to 0 or something, thus surviving where I should have died (or perhaps that was just a cosmetically erroneous 'vision' of having -1 hp).
Anyways, that has happend a few times during attacks, especially while fighting Tiarmat and a grosse of other dragons at the gates

So that's your secret of being a champion!! We heard you! Too late to say that you were only joking or something. I always knew there is some magic, something immortal about champions.

I once escaped the three trolls in Bixby's forest with 0 hp left.. that is a surprise in itself. My wimpy hadn't activated and I needed to get away myself.. it was terrifying yet exilarating.

The best thrills come at 0 hp. First time it happend to me I thought it was some kind of bug or even divine intervention
The it was me a newbie sim exploring the banshe's anthill. The second that i remember took place in a mirror maze, my own reflection took me to 0. Ah and nurgle took me to 0 with 2 consecutive special attacks.
With my sim endoflife situations happen every day but his life is worthless when I play a khorne on the other hand I hate this situations to loose conection in a room with multiple monsters or even with one strong monster is a living hell.
