What are your idiosyncracies? What are some things that you do that might not seem weird to you but your friends or family might have commented on? Or it might be something that you think is weird.
For example I can't take the first magazine off the rack when I'm buying one. I have to go for the 3rd or 4th one back unless there's only one left. I hate buying a magazine that someone else has already read and I don't know why. :p

I'm the same as Poogie when it comes to magazines but then it also extends to other merchandise, most noteably electronics and groceries. Its a little paranoia about kids getting their filthy little hands all over my cocoa puffs! arrrrgh! *breathe breathe*
Another thing I have (though now that I think about it, its more of a pet peeve) is that I have to wipe my monitor down after someone comes in and touches it. I can't stand to have fingerprints on my monitor so when my brother comes in and taps the screen saying "click there" I get filled with MURDEROUS RAGE! Not really, I just wipe the screen and tell him to go away.
One last thing I have is that I simply cannot walk past a store display with those toys that make noise without squeezing their paw, pushing in their tummy or whatever that makes them vibrate and giggle and sing songs. I just get a little smile knowing that it drives the checkout people insane...
Don't mind me or my ramblings, I'm hopped up on sugar and a very slow connection

No real idiosynchrasis, I think... But I tend to be more careful regarding life in general than most people (try not to step on or drive over bugs, worms etc, try not to break living branches, twigs and the like).
Generally I'm not very fussy about dirt or semi-bad food either, even though I prefer cleaness and fresh food of course...
Hmmm, something... I sometimes test for how long I dare to keep my eyes shut when walking or cycling... I guess people would think THAT was strange if they saw me

Now, I didn't EXPLICITLY write I _didn't_ do it while driving, did I?

I used to be weird about circles..when I was younger..
If i turned to the left, i'd have to turn to the right next time around...
I tried to stay equal...If I went in circle clockwise around something, I wouldn't feel right until I did the same thing counterclockwise as many times...
I had a strange childhood at times...

Hmmm had to think a bit about it...
I guess my main idiosyncracy (but I'm sure I have many) is that I'm never sure of an action I just did.
For example if i turn off the stove, i have to check again and again if i really did it
And when im on a trip, although I know i have my documents with me, I need to check hundreds of times to be sure a small imp hasn't stolen them from my bag.
Oh, and driving I just need to have my bag next to me, on passenger seat.
And if I happen to have a passenger and my bag has to sit on back seat, then the poor passenger is asked again and again to check if bag is still there

Idiosyncrasies

Boy, can I relate to Snafu's - I was the same way as a child.
Currently though, hmm... let's see... what are my quirks... Wouldn't it be better to ask everyone what they think is Idiosyncratic about Poogie? I mean then we could get semi-objective answers. No? Hmmm... ok.
This one is tough. I do have some. I don't think my aversion to lines or crowds really counts as that has more to do with trying to save time. The more time I save in my daily routine, the more time on Nanny after all. Hmmm, procrastination isn't really an idiosyncrasy I think, but it does mean that if I tell you I'll answer this one tomorrow you shouldn't hold your breath.
I'll have to think more on this one and get back to you...

My idiosyncracy is similiar to Ladychris's. When I go to set the alarm on
my clock, I have to keep checking to make sure it's actually set and at the correct time. I do this about six or seven times and then I'm finally satisfied that it's set correctly. Unfortunately, Snafu sometimes catches me doing it and holds me down so I can't check.
Also, after closing the garage door, I keep looking back as I'm driving away to be certain that I've closed it.
I can't stop!!!

Maybe that double checking/triple/etc is a woman thing. I do it when I'm packing and any time I'm traveling to make sure I have everything. (There was one time when I was younger when I forgot pjs and maybe that's it....) I also double check the alarm clock, the stove, when I lock my apartment door (both when leaving and when coming in), my car doors, etc. I also have to turn on the light when I go into my bedroom to make sure there's no one there, even if all the windows are shut and I was just in the room half an hour or so before.
/P
I know I have more but I can't think of them right now except for the really bad one that most people have where you have a mental list of something like stuff you need to buy, songs you want to dl (or buy the albums for), things you need to do and when you get to where you're going to do this stuff you totally forget the list.

Sounds kind of like an obsessive-compulsive thing to me.
