Unfortunately I have a lot of fears and trying to get over them has never really worked.
I don't exactly have the fear of water, as long as I can see where I am. My eyes are ultrasensitive though and I can't open my eyes at all in water, not even in the shower. If I have goggles then I'm great. I'm not a superb swimmer but I can do okay when I can see.
I have a really bad fear of heights. This was rather amusing for my company in basic training because I got stuck on top of this 2 story high ladder type structure. *fear* Repelling and the confidence course in the Army didn't help this at all.
Another gigantic fear of mine is the same as all parents. I have the fear of something happening to Nick. I don't worry as much as Ahriah, especially because he's a boy and they do the craziest things (as most of you should know) but I cringe a lot as he does some of it. He has a fear of heights too and I hope he can get over it because I know it's not fun. He's also usually very cautious so I encourage him to be a bit more bold but the fear is always there.
The thing that scares me the most though is my own imagination. I've thought that I heard burglars many times in my apartment and in my parents' home. I have horrible nightmares and I worry about Nick a lot. I might have heard something really tragic about a child during the day and then my imagination will runaway with the thoughts of "What if that happened to Nick...?" The scary images that come to me when I'm in bed alone at night are the worst things and I can really freak myself out.

ooo something in poogies post reminded me....When I was a kid I saw a bridge collapse with cars on it, ever since I have this odd fear of driving over long bridges, I can do it, but I get really sick and I drive like my grandma....Every year we take this trip to Muscle Shoals, AL and i have to cross the bridge over Joe Wheeler lake...no one wants to get behind me LOL

Oh I forgot my fear of heights... but thats a fobia i think, not a real fear, it is over as soon as I'm on safer ground. Anyway it really hinders my beloved hikings in the mountains, a couple of meters on a "exposed" path may make me change my trip completely.

Now that's not true. I've seen quite a few cops harass innocent people because they thought they were doing the right thing. It's like those social services bastards. They spend so much time trying to find guilt in an innocent person that they let the people that are really harming their kids go. Freaking rediculous and I *HAVE* seen this firsthand.

Hmm, I have to write snakes I guess.
I've had this dream a few times, in which I imagine that my bed is filled with snakes, and it feels totally real... each time I like throw myself out of the bed, and then there is a short while before I realize that there are no snakes. This is sort of odd, because I'm not that scared of snakes in real life. I respect them of course, but I'm not jumping in a lake or anything if I see one.
Being trapped in a crashing airplane, or any other situation when you are facing certain death, and got a few moment to "think", but are unable to do anything about it scares me I suppose.

I have only one fear in my life. As some of you pointed out already, it is the loss of someone close to me. If I am dying, I am okey with that. My life has been so full with stuff that it would fill up a lifetime of a 70 year old woman, so I am not scared to move on. But the loss of a dear one, that scares the **** out of me.

It's seems I really enjoy violate the law very often. But I want to say nobody gets hurt or somewhat prejudiced. (Maybe just my lungs)

Wasps ... which is of no surprise because when I was young, I accidently swallowed one and it stung me in the throat, from the inside.
My throat swelled to the point where I couldn't breathe which was extremely uncomfortable for me, and ever since I've had an extreme fear of wasps, but only when they get real close, up in my face.
Also I fear any sort of really small, really fast bug (the ones you could imagine run onto your foot, up your shoe and into the leg of your pants and disappear) ... while larger bugs doesn't bother me at all.

I agree with you, Kherec. I totally forgot about the small bugs. I do not fear them, but I get goosebumps and find them really disgusting. Specially, I do not know the english word for them but in sweden they are called 'Pappa långben', but I call them 'Flygande hästar' (flying horses).. They really gets to me..

Being alone.
Not having anyone at all in this world to talk to/share stuff with kinda frightens me.
The very worst thing would be to die alone. To be lying in a hospital bed, or whatever and have no-one to say goodbye to, no-one to hold my hand etc. To know that there was no-one who cares about me enough to be with me as I die - now that's scary.
Ack, I've filled up writing this.
Other stuff like burning to death and being buried alive also scare me.
