There are so many films...did anybody mention Forrest Gump? I found the script fantastic:)

I am one of the supporters of Titanic  such a long film..with a lot of ship sinking...and I still liked it very much (I mean, a ship sinking is not among my likings). The love story was beautiful and everything was very real.

Someone like me not liking films with heads cut has to be a bit careful, but I can always choose a love comedy...it may be boring, but it may be as funny as French Kiss.

Another film on a different style I enjoyed very much was "Desafío Total" (cant remember in english now) = Schwarzenegger with confused identity and all that.

Huh, is that 'Total Recall'? Yeppers, good movie... Who can't love watching a real cat-fight with Sharon Stone in it?!?!?!?

The Iliad was considered boring when i was in  school, and now, after "Troy" it is going to be a bestseller

Fenix, when most people like something...they like it. I rely more on general people's taste than on the ones who give awards, for instance.

You mentioned 2 films there that got awarded and I disliked: Pulp Fiction and American Beauty.

Many people liked Pulp Fiction even...but it revolted my stomach completely. I was afraid it would get the Oscar for best film instead of Forrest Gump, which didnt happen fortunately.

I dont know many who liked American Beauty very much, I personally just found it an oportunistic story painting everything black...though it won the Oscar for the best film

Absolutely, and Sharon Stone, in a cat-fight, that sure gets MY emotions going... Hmm, erm, did I already mention that?

I think it's better to have an open mind to all movies. Some big sell movies can be very good. White cat black cat has been a tremendous success and could easily be considered a big sell movie by european standards. That doesn't make it bad.

Not sure what you mean by big sell movies Fenix, you mean movies that are so successful that they make a lot of money, or do you mean movies that comes from big productions?

It's probably so that when you make a big movie production that costs drillions of money, you'd like to atleast break even, so you have to appeal to the masses, and the safest way to do that, is to repeat past successes. And if you don't like that general-successful-type-of-movie you probably don't like most of the expensive movies.

And who's the sheperd? the one watching thousands of hours of lousy polish cultural movies, per 1 hour of great polish cultural movies?

White Cat Black Cat was indeed a great movie...thousand of times greater than Matrix but not nearly as sold.
That says it all.

Yeah i know the european movie industry is a little child compared to HollyWood and the boolshits they keep feeding us most of the time.

That's sad  

Entertainment and culture...two very different concepts indeed.
