Another one from Labyrinth: =)

What is your favourite snack food? When you get the munchies what do you crave? Wink

Lately, I've been munching on rice cakes because my previous munchy was too unhealthy.  But by far my most favorite snack are those peanut butter cups, yummmmmmm.  You'll also find me snacking on Instant Noodles and a variety of corn chips (not at the same time Wink )

Being that I have been away from home for four months now (going home this weekend - FINALLY) my diet has changed dramatically.  This is due, in no small part, to the fact I am living in a pool house with only a really tiny kitchenette (meaning no real oven or stovetop - hot plate for sale, cheap!).  I've been eating a much healthier diet than usual, so there has been a lot of fruit for snacks.  The unhealthy part of that is that I often seem to be chasing it down with bourbon...

Ah, well, I wouldn't want to be too healthy

'Snack food'? Are those words not mutually exclusive???
Anyway, as snack goes, I think cheese doodles is what I want, but mixing it with 'potato chips' (dunno if that's correct english) is great... I'm a big sucker for all sorts of candy and chocolate, 'tis a good thing I don't gain weight easily...

I'm not very fond of snacks, they tend to ruin the pleasure of lunch or dinner. Three "normal" meals a day, as yummy as possible is what i need. Anyway if my stomach starts to grumble and its too early to have lunch, then onion crackers is what I'm looking for.

There is however something we call "merenda" for which "snack" is a bad translation. A "merenda" is actually a meal only it takes place at different times (11am or 4 pm), and it is not supposed to substitute lunch or dinner but just to integrate it Razz Kids have it abitually, grownups only when they need extra calories.

Well i could name a few "merendas" I love:
*Ham sandwich with a glass of "terrano" (very strong red wine).
*bruschetta (a slice of garlic bread, olive oil and possibly but not necessarily some slices of tomato).
*melange (actually a wiener speciality) black coffee, chocolate powder and whipped cream.

Hmmm im getting hungry, better stop here  Cool

If I ever eat any such thing as snack food, I guess it would be something I made myself, like tiny pankakes (we call them: "Krabelurer"), those end up turning 2inch diameter and about 1inch thick.. Dip them in some sugar and there you go.. Smile

Snack foods!  Hmm.
I love cereal for a snack.
Generally, I'm too exhausted at the end of the day to think about cooking.
Cereal works for dinner too!
Yay, cereal!

I also like peanut butter on ritz crackers.

Butter toffee peanuts. Smile

My favourite snack food changes a lot. All my life I've gone through periods of craving different things just like a pregnant woman (as I think I've said before on this forum and no I wasn't pregnant my entire life. :p) I don't eat 3 proper meals a day, I eat when I'm hungry and I eat whatever I'm craving or I don't eat at all.
Having said this, the snack that I've been eating most often lately is kettle corn microwave popcorn. I've always put a bit of sugar on my popcorn so discovering kettle corn was a blessing. Wink I also love fresh fruit like strawberries, apricots, peaches, plums, granny smith apples and my favourite of all...cherries.
Too tired to think anymore.
