This is one of my favourite questions and I've asked it on the Chatline before but I'll ask it again and hope to get a better response.
What are your guilty pleasures? By guilty pleasures I mean things that are pretty uncool to like but you love them anyway. If you don't feel guilty about it just name things that would be guilty pleasures.
Examples: Daytime soap operas, chick flicks (more for the guys), liking New Kids on the Block...
/P who isn't ashamed of her 'guilty pleasures'.

Just out of curiosity, does hanging around with someone nicknamed "Poo" count?
I could try the line here about nothing I do is uncool - but I do Mud, so we know that isn't true!
I don't really feel guilty about these, but since you included them in your examples:
I am also, like so many have claimed before me, a hopeless romantic (as opposed to the hopeful kind) and therefore am rather fond of many of the so-called "chick-flicks."
I am also a sap for love songs regardless of Genre (Yes, even Barry Mannilow).
I actually enjoy theater, including musicals.
Jazz fanatic (does that count?)
Now my real "guilty pleasures," the ones I might actually get a pang or two of guild over, that will cost you to learn about!

Well, for starters, I like to MUD.
Second, I can't help but dance when I hear a Justin Timberlake song.
Lastly, I can't stop being punny.

Dark Chocolate and Red Wine (so naughty yet so richly satisfying)
Mens Body Wash (that is terribly embarassing) *blush*
singing out loud in the car alone (any where else and I tend to scare people)
Aspertame (im addicted)
cheesy 2nd rate romance novels
Country Music (especially the older stuff) Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, even a little Randy Travis woo woo
mudding
I still pretend Richard Marx was singing to me when I hear the song, Right here waiting for you.
oh hehe *blush* yea almost forgot one -

I like classical music, and I used to be a politics junkie when I lived in Scotland.
Fear me!

Hmmm... I don't really think I feel ashamed about those uncool pleasures I enjoy... With the exception of MUDing itself, I guess. I almost never talk about MUD with people that don't MUD themself or already KNOW I MUD...
OTOH, there are quite a few things that might be uncool that I like (but I don't miss a chance to tell people about them):
- 'High school movies' (think Courtney Thorne-Smith, think locker room sequences)
- Martial art action movies (Seagal, Van Damme, Lee...)
- Arnold movies (yes, pretty uncool if you are over 20... Over 25... Over 30, bah, you know what I mean)
- REALLY romantic music, like 'Unchained Melody' which I mentioned another day
- Computer games (Unreal Tournament, Doom][ (reinstalled it just days ago, actually)
- And some more...

Teen-series and the fact that I find myself grinning everytime the hapless guy tries to make a move on the gorgeous girl ... or whatever common teen problem arise
I mean I somehow love to watch old Beverly Hills episodes as well as new series like The O.C.
And, for a finale ... I'm ashamed to admit that I like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel *snickers*.

I have no guilt about my geeky pastimes when I'm here, that's part of why I come here.
No guilty pleasures. Plenty of guilt (English heritage), but not pleasant.

I sing to much! I sing when I shop, I sing out loud when Im out walking or waiting for a bus at a busstop. There is no stopping me! I sing loudly when I shower and when I cook food, I simply sing whenever and wherever
Another thing might be that I have my brain full of useless information, like when every member in Gn´R has birthday and how long each song on their albums are and stuff like that.
Yes, and Im also a sucker for the Eurovision Song Contest, which in turn gives me more useless knowledge - yes it´s true, I kind of know what song Israel had in 1990...and so the story goes on.

1 Mudding
2 Mudding
3 Mudding
*grin* seriously, apart from mudding i love gaming, from pc games to board games... and i can have fun in it even if opponents are my school kids
I take great pleasure in reading children books and very romantic teenager books
I love theatre and classical music. (is that so uncool? *boggle*)
But actually i dont have "guilty" pleasures since I've learned not to feel guilty about something that i enjoy
And if ppl think what I'm doing is weird... well, who cares?

I never really feel guilty about the things I love that are rather odd but here are the ones I can remember:
Boy Bands
- The Monkees, NKOTB, NSYNC, BSB, etc. *I LOVE THEM.*
Bring It On
- That cheerleader movie with Kirsten Dunst. I'm not all that fond of her and I really hate cheerleaders but I love that movie.
Girls Just Want To Have Fun
- A great cheesy movie from the 80s. It has Sarah Jessica Parker (
Sex and the City
) and Helen Hunt (
Mad About You
) and even Shannen Dougherty (
Beverly Hills 90210
and
Charmed
).
Btw, any of you
Charmed
fans, that should be listed as a guilty pleasure along with
Hercules
and
Xena
. (Sorry Strife, don't kill me!)
Male movie stars/musicians in my age group and perhaps a wee bit younger
- Orlando Bloom, Dom Monaghan, etc. I have on occasion even picked up a
Teen Magazine
or something equally bad to read an article about them or procure a photo.
I guess
Mudding
could be put on the list, it sure would be by my family and friends here in Colorado.
Occasionally
chocolate
but not too often.
Food from Jason's Deli
, especially their
Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich
, would probably count. That
Bananas Foster pie
from Dave and Busters surely would. OMG, my mouth is watering thinking of it.
Collecting hockey cards
used to be one and before that it was
collecting CDs
. Nowadays it's getting movies, music and software....(I won't highlight that at all though.)
I know there has to be more. The thing is that I don't feel guilty about it either so it's hard to remember what things others might feel guilty about.
So there is probably more to come on this list.
/P

I'm sick. I admit it.
I'm an ebay addict.
I am a shopping freak too.
It doesn't matter if I have 20 pairs of black heels, the ones at the store are so shiny and new!
Tiffanys.
I obsess over Tiffanys.
I browse their store, their catalog, and online.
And then I power-shop.
Shoe polish.
See shiny shoe syndrome.

I do not feel guilty of the pleasures I have. If I did, they would not pleasure me.. right?
But there is one thing that most of us swedes really does not admit liking, but I shall admit it, and I do it here, for the first time ever.
The swedes knows who it is, the rest of the world I hightly doubt knows who it is, but here I go...
I do, infact, like Carola. Specially her song 'I believe in love'. It makes me feel happy and makes me dance and feel joyfull
So there, I said it. In risk for getting teased, but I can take it..
