I started thread so I'll be first to tell my story
It was summer 2001 I think, Ladychris was already a knight and a Paragon, but the old wanderlust was still strong in her. So she was exploring Brom's area when she found a very unfriendly werewolf. I don't remember who started fighting, but in a few moments she was busy trying to remove that evil fiend from nanny world.
Unfortunately the werewolf managed to bite her and infect her with a deadly disease
The brave knightess was very distressed: she had experienced deadly diseases before, and in some cases she had found no other way to get rid of them than surrendering to the Dark Lady. But dying with a level 8 char is not the same than killing a paragon, so that solution didn't appeal her much
It was sunday morning and not many players were on, her husband Bluejedi was away for job, and she had no clue what to do. She logged off waiting for better times to come, and logged on her druid.
Eventually a brave knight arrived (she was checking whe "who" list every few seconds); she din't know him personally, but recognized him as one of Bluejedi's best friends. Actually such a friend that he was the one performing cerimony at her wedding
Anyway she asked him to help her. After a moment wondering what might he do for a smallish druid, he understood the problem so she cound transform into a knightess again...
Valdor (yes, did you guess that already?) dragged her all around nanny caring for her like a nurse, bandaging her when needed and trying every possible solution. They visited Brom's apothecary and she tried every single pill created by that evil wizard. One even caused her to die (it was actually a fake death, but it scared Valdor to death). Nothing to do, that damn fever didn't want to cease. Suddenly though, when almost all seemed lost, Valdor noticed that the poor knightess was showing signs of recovering. He doubled his efforts in bandaging but in that moment he was summoned to defend Basalt Keep.
Since she had actually regained hope and trusted she would be able to bandage herself till full health, she urged him to go, thankfull it was Basalt Keep and not Camelot to be under attack...
And so my story ends... I still have no idea if the disease was over for natural causes or as a result of some pill. Later wanderings brought me to find a possible solution to that werewolf bite but I never had the courage to kill what monster again, so I never tested it

I know that I must have gotten lost many many times but I can't remember a specific incident when a knight in shining armour came to rescue me. Lots of people have helped me over time. When I first recreated Poesia Jadow was so kind to me, helping me out and getting me readjusted to the guild. (That's why I married him
)
Others have helped with kills or lent me cash until my more wealthy character could pay them back. Nanny has such a great group of selfless everyday heroes.
I'll try to think back and find a good story of when I was totally newbieish and someone helped me out of an embarrassing situation. I'm sure there are plenty. :p

so far no one has rescued me, is it because i'm a leper or possibly that i'm a kenemy? Sorry, i actually didn't mean to attack a Defender, beside i think it was he/she who started the fight....

just to make a point: Defenders don't attack other pk-ers unless attacked. Also some of them are even more careful and ask before if it was an accident or a deliberate attack. Still don't take them for fools.

I wish I could remember who it was, but perhaps the one who helped me will recognize the situation?
I was pretty much a newbie at the time, and I found a poor sick man begging me for help. Since I always have been and still is
such a nice person I figured I would put him out of his misery, poor man, and prepared to make a mercy kill. But before I knew it this dreadful man had injected a deadly disease into me and I was loosing Hp quickly. I was scared and socked by this and did not know what to do.
I begged a person for help (I think it might have been a knight) and imagine he solved a quest to give me my medicine and make me healthy again. I am forever thankful. (later on I learned that this sickness would be cured by dying, I guess I was lvl 4 or 5 at the time so it would not have been a very great loss, but for me then it was)

Oh, I recognize the situation... No it was not me to help you, I managed that quest just recently, but when i was a newbie i found myself in same situation
Unfortunately that time i had no knight in shining armour to resque me... I was too small and too shy to ask for help
so i had no other chance than dying

This very same thing happened to me as well. I wanted to help this poor man so much, but he gave me the plague instead. I knew what I had to do. Solve the quest and I would be cured. However, I am not _the_ quester. I am just so bad at it. But I tried. I tried over and over again. Running back and forth between the maze and healing myself up. Do not know how much I spent on healing that time, but it was alot. I never solved that darn quest. I knew I would be cured if I died. But since I was a Paragon when I got this plague, that was not really an option for me. The noble Knight Cyrion tried to help me as well, but with no luck.
And now I feel a little ashamed of myself, I can not remember if it was Towlie or Soulmate who helped me to get cured. Anyway, one of them have heard about this 'fake death'-thingy. The one killed a monster to get some potion of some kind, and gave this potion to me. I drank it, turned into a ghost, as if I was dead, I do believe I then went to church to pray, or did I get into the nurse's tent? Anyway, since I was 'dead' she could cure me from this deadly plague. And I did not loose any xp or level. I am forever thankful for Towlie, or if it was Soulmate? (darn, why can I not remember?) Whatever happened to those two anyway??

I've done the same exact thing, and being the really annoying newbie that I was, I shouted, "Help! I have the plague! Please help me!" about 5 or 6 times. I do remember several people hanging around me, and a monk (whose name I do not recall) healed me as far as my HP would go, only to have them drop back to 1 as I idled. Moth killed the beggar to keep me from ending up dead that way, but otherwise, no cure.
I think it was Roc (or Roth, but same person) who took me to Meep's Suicide Tower and told me to jump. If I was going to die, I might as well get something in return. The meepmobile was quite amusing, but then I accidentally ate it.
I'm not that much smarter today. Heh.

I remembered another time, when I almost died. I was out walking and ran into this sorceror. He was not that nice, and I started to throw my spores at him. After a few rounds he died, of course. Happily I went back to the Druidtree. But after a short while, some strange man, that I have not seen before came after me? I have not done anything to this man, and yet he started to try to kill poor me. When I was low on hp, I of course ran away from him. 'Phew' I thought, that was a close one. I healed myself up, and started to walk around Nanny again. But there he was again, this strange man, and started to pound on me like never before. Now it was time for me to figure out who this man was. I asked among the druids who was around. Yoshy asked me if I had met the sorceror I told you about above. Yes, I said, and Ah, Yoshy said. She told me then, that by killing that sorceror you will get a Stalker after you. Oh? I did not know that, I said. Yoshy told me to meet her at a special place and wait for the stalker to show him self. I did, and Yoshy came to me and helped me kill this evil stalker. It took a few rounds before he got killed by us..
If it was not for Yoshy, I would surely have died that day. She is a true hero in my eyes. She is always helpful and never wants anything in return. Always kind and sweet. I can only hope to grow up and be like her one day. If I'll be half as kind and helpfull as she is, then I have reached my goal.

Defenders
shouldn't
attack non-kenemies, they do sometimes I guess, I've witnessed it. And after that also declared it as a kenemy. Whatever. I'm just tired of that half-knightly behavior some show sometimes.
My hero was Crowe. I've always had great respect for him.
Why don't you ask about the preferred enemy?
