I've been enjoying watching the world cup (and not just because it's a good excuse to watch TV while at work) and thought I'd supply the absolutely mandatory but totally silly posting to the board about it.  Of course if I were to start a poll about who the best team is I could just leave the answer list at one "Mine" and let you all fill in the blank.  Instead I thought I'd take a different slant.

What country/team that is not represented in the World Cup
would you most like to see.  (responses of the USA will be promptly flamed Evil or Very Mad)

Believe it or not, there really are countries that aren't represented...  Oh, and Manchester United is not a country.

Hmmm... That'd be Norway, I just love when Sweden beats Norway... Hey, hang on, Morild is inactive again?!? No point in making fun of Norway then Sad  (Seriously, I'd like to see Norway in the World Cup...) (Not sure why, though...) (I'm tired and can't find a better answer...)

Norway in the World Cup? I love Norway, since my parents comes from Norway and I am proud of it too :p But even I know they wont make it.. would be fun if they did though, but I seriously doubt it..

Personally, I think it would have been interesting to see Canada in the cup - I can't imagine them making a poorer showing than the US anyway - but the team I would most like to see in competition would actually be New Zealand.   Can you imagine an Australia vs. New Zealand match?  A rugby game could break out in the middle of that.

here in Spain we are all attentive, but now we'll have to play against France and we've never beaten France in an official game! and we've never got to the final 4ths

Actually, I enjoy the sport thouroughly - more than most of the popular sports here in the US.  Of course, the fact that I live in the US should be a bit revealing about how much news I recieve about the European leagues.
For what it's worth, I do think this is the best team Spain has fielded in some time.  I'm wishing you all the best against France.  Personally, I think I'll be glued to the Ghana vs Brazil match.
 Very Happy

Ouch, just wanted to express my sadness the day after Sweden's terrible match against Germany... With 0-2 after 12 minutes, I began to fear a classic collapse, perhaps even some sort of record for a 1/8's final... Luckily there were no more german goals. No swedish goals either, though (Larsson's failure with the penalty shot was just awful).

Football/soccer really sucks, actually... Damned girlie sports...

we are already out of it  Crying or Very sad  I remember in 1982 I became fan of another team at this point, but now the problem is that the channel where the rest of games are shown I cant watch properly, it has a lot of noise...so it may be the end of the championship for me  Very Happy

I think most of our home teams are eliminated at this point.   Sad

Personally, I think I've found the answer to always root for the winning team - go for the guys in yellow or black shirts, the ones that have the cards in their pocket - they seem to win every time!

England is who I seem to be rooting for these days.  I don't recall any Mudders from Brazil or Germany.  I know one from Italy, but I still seem to be favoring England at this time.
