NannyMUD / Question of the Week / Location, Location, Location!

Been meaning to get to this for awhile just been a little busy. Don't mess with Texas!
I second that! I've lived in Texas my whole life. I learned to drive in Houston and I'll let you in in front of me as long as you haven't been an idiot to get in your current situation (eg known a lane was going to close in two miles, yet drove in the lane until you are about to hit a barricade) and I'll wave if you let me in. Heh, I'll even wave if I cut you off. Actually, I have found driving style differs greatly from city to city within Texas. I could go on about the differences quite a while, but I won't. /Eris

Taste seems the obvious answer. I would miss it the least.
However, if the loss would only be temporary, I would choose hearing. I would like to work with deaf children "when I grow up" and would like to be able to better empathize with them.

I can't even stand the smell of it. If someone is chewing watermelon gum I can smell it from across the room and it turns my stomach. I used to think it was funny to put a piece of watermelon gum in my mouth right before Nil picked me up from work and see if I could manage to kiss him before he smelled it. /Es

Ohh! I can't stand Jell-o either. It is texture thing for me...just eww!
Maraschino cherries top my list. Apparently when I was about 3 we went to eat and while we were waiting for a table the bartender kept giving me maraschino cherries. Then when we got our table every waiter who walked by would bring me some. I nearly made myself sick.
Lemon in water is another one (don't like lemonade either). Like lemons otherwise, but I will send back a glass of water if it has had lemon in it, on it or anywhere near it.
As to meat I like my steaks medium or even medium rare depending on the cut, but ground meat such as burger patties I must have well done...even slightly charred.

Ok...I agree with Poogie the checking n times is a woman thing. Aside from the ones already mentioned I check to make sure there isn't anyone in the back seat of my car (at least no one who doesn't belong). When the fear is so paralyzing I can't look I ask Nilram to do it (He gripes rolls his eyes and does it anyway. Isn't he sweet?!) I keep a watchful eye on the review mirror and recheck at stop lights just to be safe.
I also reorganize multiple times. Every week before I go to the grocery I totally clean out and reorganize my fridge and pantry. Other cabinets and filing systems get a less frequent reorganization (once a month or so). My label maker is the best thing I ever bought! I label everything!
I have a major aversion to using other people's showers/sleeping on their sheets that sort of thing.
If you are a waiter and see me coming you'd do well to bribe the hostess to seat me in a different section. I am very particular about food stuffs in general. Mayo must go on the bottom bun of a burger, M&M's must be separated and eaten in order, (I have a system for eating just about everything actually...and it is rarely just take a bite...people find reason to comment about this quite often), fast food papers must be folded a particular way before tossing them, chip bags must be opened from the top...the list goes on.
Those are the ones that come to mind as they have been mentioned recently.

Simply spending time with Nilram. I can think of nothing that would fulfill me nor sustain my interest more than this...besides I wouldn't want to spend eternity without him.

I would be my daughter's bear. That bear gets to experience the world (I say experience because her eyes fell off long ago) and she is so loved. Not to mention this bear has magical powers. Her hug is more powerful than a mother's kiss. She can ease pain and cast a sleeping spell over anyone who hugs her (trust me it works on adults too). As for eventually being tossed or put up this is the inevitable fate of all toys and I would rather have a short life filled with love than a long empty one.

Hmm...I'm with Poogie on two counts. First I would want to condense series into one large volume and second I would take the Harry Potter series...very re-readable always finding something new. I wouldn't take just the newest one however because when I read the newest one I always want to go back and read the ones before it to see what I missed.
The Bible--also re-readable
The first Dune trilogy--mainly because Nil keeps bugging me to read it and I never have
A collection of differing views on parenting--improve *my* job performance.
Complete works of Shakespeare--the twists in the language are just fun.
I think some sort of survival guide would be prudent; however, it was not my first thought and besides that if I've had time to choose which five books I would take I'm laying in stores for a year or I'm not going!

Trading Spaces of course! And I would kidnap Vern and force him to make more episodes so we could have at least 1 new Vern room a week, or maybe just start the Vern show which would follow him around and film what he does for his everyday clients. It is ok because I admit I'm addicted.
Hmm...guess I would also include M*A*S*H greatest one-liners there, Babylon 5 specially for Nil, Dharma and Greg, Red Dwarf, My Hero, a guilty pleasure hour featuring Friends. Might also include Hockey although games just aren't as good when you're not there. Fill in the rest with true crime stuff and documentaries about random things filled with useless trivia.
Of course on my network all the best programming would be in the middle of the night from say 22:00 - 6:00.

I interpreted this question as Carrion and Oasis, and have a really hard time answering. There isn't a single item, but I would want a pedicure a month for the rest of my life.
The broader sense of the question is easy: time. Time with all its implications ie we're financially stable, neither of us *has* to work, we can travel as a family, etc....

I'd like to say I live my life with no regrets; learn from mistakes and move on. I believe that is true and a healthy way to live. When my four year old gets hurt because of a foolish decision I ask her, "What can you learn from this?" To which she normally replies *shrug*. I suggest a possible lesson, she normally shakes her head in refusal of said lesson, and I reply "Well then I guess all you got from that experience was a bumped head/scraped knee/(insert other malady)." Guess that is neither here nor there...
Having said that, there is one time in my life where the outcome was good for me, but the way I went about achieving the outcome I wanted was hurtful to another. If I could go back and achieve the same outcome without hurting the other person I would do so.
The lives of others are a different story. There are many things that have happened to those I love that have hurt them very deeply. If I could change these things I would; consequences be damned.
/Eris A little long winded today.

Nilram says there isn't a movie I've seen in which I didn't cry. Hmm...I can't think of a counter example, so he may be right. Two I think of that really got the tears flowing were _An Affair to Remember_ and _Love Story_. Classics.

Loss of a child. Absolutely. There are no words and I won't even try to find them.
In other matters confrontation is probably my biggest fear. My heart races and I avoid it at all cost. If I think someone will be upset, hurt or yell at me...bad stuff.
But then again I'm a big chicken about quite a few things.
