Yes they did - but we were all thinking it.
One of these days I'll log in and there will be more than 6 people online again.... I just know it.

Well, one of the biggest amounts I remember the daemon getting his hands on was when a certain RT went linkdead with no equipment on, in the SR just as an attack was starting. The undead attacking actually did finish him off and when the daemon stepped in to clean up found all his cash and headed for the pub... attack be damned. I remember who that was and that the daemon was still going at it a good 45 minutes after the attack had ended. That one wasn't so much a blunder on his part though as a technical mishap.... and I witnessed it, so it wasn't me. (although I have bought my fair share of drinks for the daemon from time to time, never more than 150k worth)

Heh,
I can't say I haven't done the same with the pack and forgetting the cash is in it. I also agree with Carrion - Thefly's story is quite amusing.
The best I ever saw though (and almost repeated once) has more to do with other unintended consequences of keeping gold in your pack.
As many of you know, the share-room daemon in Camelot has a bit of a drinking problem, and if he can get his hands on two coins to rub together then there is little doubt he will soon be in the pub with his grubby mitts on a bottle of brew instead. There was a similar case of a high ranking knight holding his cash in his pack (I honestly don't recall exactly who it was, and at the time I think they were a High Knight) and getting ready to go. Apparently he used a command that many of us have used from time to time when doing stocking runs for the shareroom: "Store all from pack."
Next thing I noticed was the greedy, red-nosed daemon jumping all over the room screaming something about gold then racing off for the pub, leaving the rest of us waiting and unable to use the Shareroom in his absence. Certainly Mordred (or one of our opponents) sensed this would be a prime time to attack and did so, leaving several knights with naught but their falcons as weapons. We did kind of hope that the daemon would finish his drinks and return to his duties, but apparently it takes a while to drink through 2.5mill in gold. I believe it was shortly thereafter that an upper limit on how much the daemon could drink before being cut off was instituted.

Wait - Mistress logged in somewhere and I missed it????
I remember Mistress, the Evil RT. The only question I seem to have is who the heck is that Wicked RT fellow in the mirror?

So.. did this actually happen? Or did it happen and unhappen... or?
It only kinda happened. The clubs were rezzed for a short time, but with the new criteria that people had to enlist for each attack from both sides or it wouldn't happen. Needless to say - there were very few attacks ever and it didn't take long before it just faded into the background again and the clubs were re-closed. I did here some grumbling from some Wizzes that no new people were signing up, but with the criteria to fight in three before joining - and the actual attacks being so few (I am certain less than 10 happened) and far between - I am not sure how new people were supposed to get involved.

Hmmm, It seems to me I actually had more time to play Nanny before I finished my degree. Don't be a fool - stay in school ... who needs a paycheck anyway?

I think most of our home teams are eliminated at this point. Personally, I think I've found the answer to always root for the winning team - go for the guys in yellow or black shirts, the ones that have the cards in their pocket - they seem to win every time! -Yav

Actually, I enjoy the sport thouroughly - more than most of the popular sports here in the US. Of course, the fact that I live in the US should be a bit revealing about how much news I recieve about the European leagues. For what it's worth, I do think this is the best team Spain has fielded in some time. I'm wishing you all the best against France. Personally, I think I'll be glued to the Ghana vs Brazil match. -Yav
