3  NannyMUD / Areas / Search or not?!? on: October 25, 2004, 10:21:10 AM
I had only been at Nanny for less than a week when I made an alias to examine and search - I thought everyone would have done that.

I've only just started exploring Mirage's area. I fell into a trap right away - many times I'm just too curious Smile

Thanks for the info ladychris Smile It does sound like the best thing to do is to just create another character to satisfy my curiosity about other guilds.

Snafu, I've been exploring your area - great work! There are so many great areas on Nanny that I'm trying to narrow my targets down to the wizards I see in the 'who' list, those I see posting on this board, and areas noted as exceptional in other threads here. Of course, sometimes I just wander around aimlessly Smile and sometimes that gets me in trouble Wink

I think this thread has went way off-topic - but that's ok, I'm enjoying the discussion Smile thanks

Thanks Allyene, Hewe and Fenix for the suggestions/comments Smile

I can't help but be curious about the other guilds... but for now I'll stick with my Druid. I'm about 90K NP away from level 18 and I'm half-way to elder...  can't stop now Smile

Or you could simply "tear cloak" and do some serious stuff instead.  Twisted Evil

I'm open to suggestions Smile But... I just max'd my stats... if I leave druids what happens to my stats and level?

Monsters and similar respawn in about 1 hr...

I think this answers a question I just had as I was reading this LPC document about how often the reset() and init() functions are called.

...in some cases, the quitting/reentering/wearing eq back/continue killing can be a solution...

Wow, I hadn't thought of that... that's very interesting. Thanks!

last time I got to that chest I actually CAME from Randalar's area

I found Drow City 'accidently' via the Ogre cave because of the Driders (they wouldn't let me go back in the direction I came from). I just found Randalar's area last night (4w,3n,nw) but haven't explored it yet Smile

Thanks to everyone for the excellent tips Smile

Malan, you can ask a knight (for instance) to help you recover your loot or armour when you fear dying. You may have to lead the way sometimes, though...that ruin of the drows is not one of the most popular places, I think.

That's good advice - thank you! Smile

I've noticed that monsters and other items seem to re-spawn relatively quickly. How long will the loot/armour stay there?

Interesting coincidence that you should bring this up. I've practically been living in the Ogre Cave for the past several days. I also found the hidden room... which got me started looking for the key... which led to finding Randalar's Drow City... where the Drow's promptly made me 'quit' for fear of dying - losing about 3Kgc worth of loot as well as all my armour I had borrowed from the Druid chest. Aaarrrghh!!!

Oh... also ran into Bandor the dwarf somewhere in there.

14  NannyMUD / Misc / Determining "Encumberance" on: October 06, 2004, 10:31:56 AM
The 'sc' and 'score' commands give alot of information about your stats, etc. But the information regarding "encumberance" is minimal. In the nanny help info, STR is defined as "affects your carrying capacity".

Is there any command which will give info on this 'capacity'? such as current/max, etc
