1  NannyMUD / Question of the Week / names on: August 19, 2004, 07:51:22 AM
I don't have a problem with people giving their kids wierd names. Although I can see how it might be hard on the kids. And ok, in some cases, the names are stupid, like if you really did give a boy a girls name like Sue or something. It's not as bad the other way around, since many girls names started out as boys names. I personally tend to like ordinary-ish names, and Irish or Scottish names (picked my nick out of a book of Gaelic names, except I sortof mushed the spelling between Gaelic and Anglicized versions, ie. Ciaran vs Kieran). My favorite names tend to be: Jonathan, Alexandra (or variants), and Sebastien.

2  NannyMUD / Question of the Week / quote on: August 19, 2004, 07:46:59 AM
I don't know where this is from, I originally saw it in Mouser's plan:

"A woman is often measured by the things she cannot control.
She is measured by the way her body curves or doesn't curve,
by where she is flat or straight or round.
She is measured by 36-24-36 and inches and ages and numbers,
by all the outside things that don't ever add up to who she
is on the inside.
And so if a woman is to be measured, let her be measured by
the things she can control, by who she is and who she is
trying to become. Because as every woman knows,
measurements are only statistics.
And statistics lie."
3  NannyMUD / Areas / fave area on: August 15, 2004, 06:56:50 PM
I think my current favorite is Carrion's newbie land. Leowon's has also been a favorite (I *heart* typosquad). And I also miss Akasha's.

I really like this post/list thingie, it has given me some thoughts as to areas I might like to explore soon. Smile

I like exploring best, places where you can look at the room, and look at the items referenced in the room descriptions and the item descriptions.

*is a wierdo that way among others* //Cie
4  NannyMUD / Question of the Week / hmm.. on: August 07, 2004, 04:06:22 PM
My friends and I also discuss this from time to time. I don't think about it much usually, so I always have trouble coming up with a list (and it changes radically and randomly each time the question is asked), much less ranking them in order of preference.

But here goes - not necessarily in order, subject to change, etc..

Adam Garcia (Coyote Ugly, Bootmen, etc)
Handy Andy (from Changing Rooms on TV)
Lawrence (also from Changing Rooms)

and after 3 I usually get stuck.. but let's keep going..

Hugh Grant (About a Boy, Notting Hill, etc)

and I guess Heath Ledger

there's lots more that I just sortof cycle through randomly..

Alan Rickman (until I saw him in Awfully Big Adventure  Confused  )
Colin Firth
Sean Connery
Liam Neeson
Orlando Bloom
Johnny Depp
Chris Marquette (though he's a bit young  Twisted Evil  )
Jason Lee
Ben Affleck
Kevin Smith
Mark Addy
Oliver Platt

I'm sure there's others I can't think of right now..

bah.  Exclamation
