Hi,

This board is Nanny-related, but still, I just take it as some gateway between rl and Nanny. Nanny is just that place you can telnet in, period. :) This is a real forum. :)

I was just wondering, perhaps you could post here a bit about yourselves, about your rl. Who you are, where you live, what you do. Perhaps this is not such a good idea as some people would like to keep their Nanny-identity here? I couldn't care less. :P Anyway I'm just being courious ... so I will just tell you a bit about myself, not that anyone would care.
I'm 27 years old (will be on 30th April). I am of hungarian nationalty, and a romanian citizen. I came to work to Budapest two months ago, too bad people isn't playing Nanny from here so I'm kinda alone. :)
I am working for some company named TCS as an Assistant System Engineer, this would be my official title I guess ... but I don't really know yet what I am doing there. :) A bit of everything ... (IT, of course). Writing dox, completing forms, things I've always hated. Oh well, actually it isn't all that bad. But it is very different that my old job, I'm having sometimes a hard time to get used to things. I am a very lazy person too, this might be a problem sometimes. :D
I think most Nanny players (at least the older ones) work in IT. We are the ones without a life, right? :)

Oh well, I just noticed we can start some polls (or can't we?) So I'll just test it.  :mrgreen:

Heh. I am 30. I live in Ohio in US. I grew up as a military brat with father in Army. I am about to finish an Associates degree in Computer Networking Systems. Don't know where Labyrinth and I will go after that or when we'll move, but we WILL move. I've lived in many different cities all over the US. I've been playing Nanny since 1993 and have a long memory. Might say more later :)

So, let's see.  I am a bit older than Snafu... As I like to put it I am old enough to know better but young enough to do it anyway.  I also live in the US, currenly near the west coast in the state known as Nevada; but, also like Snafu, I know I will be moving at some point (probably in about 1 year or so).  
I can tell you that even though I am an older player with no life, I am not in IT.  Actually, the no life thing is due to my job   :cry:

I actually haven't been around Nanny as long as the likes of some here, but I guess I've been around longer than quite a few now, I believe it was 1999 to be specific.

Coincidentally, like Qwer, I am currently far from my home for work and have absolutely nothing on the outside to do other than Nanny.  Luckily for me I get to go home in about 1 month, an event I am looking forward to.   8)

I've always kept Nanny and RL VERY far apart :) Well, after the first period when some of my RL friends (Beowulf, Exidor, Fce, Baldrick et al) also played anyway. After that first period it's almost been my mark not 'coming forward' :) Instead, I know a lot of the admin and elder wizards, by looks and name, but they (with one exception) have no clue who I am!

Some of the 'old' players I at least know by look are Gwendolyn, Qqqq, Anvil, Profezzorn... Hmmm, this is more suited in the Nostalgia part, right? Ok, I'll just tell you ONE piece of information... I'm about one year younger than Brom in RL, making me quite some years older than Snafu! I'm also working in IT (ooops, that was two pieces!!!).

I can tell you that I am from Norway ( I actually live there too), I am female, married, and I have a wonderful 5 year old son.
Part of my work is IT related web-administrator, computer graphics etc.
I can also tell you... hmm .. nah.. some other time perhaps  8)

I'm Cristina, I play from Trieste, Italy (as you can see in my profile) and i'm not in IT either, being a math teacher (in my profile as well) :P
No, im not going to tell my age (You dont expect a lady do that without lying, do you?), but I'm not a teenager as you can guess from my job and my pictures in snafu's gallery. Also from pictures you can guess i like outdoor activities like hiking, biking, skyiing... a lot :P Too bad i dont have a portable computer to mud during hike rests *evil grin*. I also like painting/drawing and i think you can find my gallery URL in a million of different places (not last that tiny www tag).
What else? I love nanny, got addicted to it, maybe because i love to make friends from all over the world. (And also because my RL friends are getting busier and busier with work, family, babies and stuff).

So did you learn anything new? i doubt it  :twisted:

Enjoyed to read about ya fellas, I just didn't find Ladychris' pictures. And that makes me sad. Very sad. I am very pleased to hear that you play from Italy, so there's more than those cold-hearted vikings in Nanny. :) (talking of Europe ...)

For all those interested (yes both of you! :wink: ) here is some information about me. I'm in my early 30s and live in the south east of the UK, about a 30 minutes drive from the capital city of London. I've been married now for about 3 and a half years. Unfortunately, I've been very busy of late helping out my other half set up an online business, so I haven't been able to play Nanny as much as I would like.

However, I've just bought a new wireless laptop, so playing Nanny outside in the sunshine in the garden is a very tempting possibility (yes we do get sunshine in the UK occasionally!!)

Here goes...I am 26 to be 27 in about 2 months...I work as a sysadmin for a small start-up company in IT services (doing all that involves networks and some OSes). I live in Bucharest, Romania and currently I study Computer Science in Politechnics University of Bucharest, short time studies (3 years). I am expected to graduate sometimes next year (05).

Alright, here goes, briefly: I'm 27 now, from 1976 as well, and I was 18 when I started playing Nanny. I'm Dutch, living in Hoorn which is about 35 km above Amsterdam. I can call myself an IT'er as well, but I also studied psychology. Aaand, you can find pictures under my wizard Mirage if you want :)

I just came home to my parents (new passport, requesting working visa etc) so I'm just having an about 2-weeks holiday. Take a wild guess, I just happen to use a modem right now, a P (MMX!!  :D ) @ 233, 64 Mb ram, 28.8kbps modem connection. Jeez, this suxx0rz. Oh well, at least I can read my mail & stuff. It's better than nothing I guess ... fear modems.
Anyway it's still great to have it as I can keep in touch with my parents from Hungary ... (my mom actually, dad just seems to hate all that's new and unknown, he wouldn't touch a pc  :lol: )
A friend, you know him aswell, Wolfy, keeps calling me with all kind of problems (we work for the same company). Hehe, he's alone now, as I were without him last week ... so tehnology is great unless they call you from job during holidays.  :x

I too was born in that awesome year of 1976, which for us United States citizens was the bicentennial year. (I know most of you come from countries that are waaaaaaaaaaaaay older but I'm proud of being born in 76). I've lived in Colorado most of my life from age 8 to the present save for the time I went to college (and majored in NannyMUD) and a brief time spent in the Army. Hooah! As most of you know I'm very patriotic and I especially care about the military servicemembers (from other countries as well).
My son, Nick, was born in Nov of 1999. That whole think is a story in itself. He's 4.5 and in preschool now.
Starting in August I *hopefully* will be majoring in Applied Computing and Digital Media Studies. This October I'll celebrate 10 years of being on Nanny.

Ok Im lazy, been putting off posting for quite a bit. Mainly because I am fluent in typo...makes it rather hard for others to follow me...

I was born in July on the 24th day in 1976. 20 days after Bicentennial WOOT!!! I am beginning to see a thread here. (Conspiracy or a bored generation?) I was born in Kokomo, but moved to Nashville, TN when I was 5 months old. Lived there until I was 19 and then moved to Kansas City, MO.

I went to College at a small university with 1100 students (how they managed to be come a university still boggles my mind.) I was a Double Music Major in Education and Music Buisness. Minor in CIS. This was also when I first discovered MUDs, back when gophering was the only way to go  :lol: The first mud I was on I sat in the church and chatted for months, didnt even know you could do anything but have conversations. Until some vampire came and grabbed me leveled me up to level 16 in one day and then left. I dont think I ever saw him again. LOL. Half of the computer lab at that time was playing the same MUD. So we all just basically chatted through our classes while the professor slept and figured we were teaching ourselves I guess. Ofc this first MUD wasnt NANNY, I thought it was Igor, but logged in there a while back, but cant seem to recognize anything  :) , no suprise as this was almost 10 years ago. Anyways I left school after my second year. Another Story for another day perhaps, but not MUD related  :wink:

After living in MO for a bit I traveled some, then moved back to TN. Had a beautiful little girl in May 1999, Dont ask me about her or you might live to regret it as once I start I cant seem to quit talking about her. She'll be starting Kindergarten this August, and Im petrified LOL.

I started Nursing School back in Jan 2000, sped through a one year LPN program and Graduated in Dec 2000, my next degree im going to savor, as the speed course was mentally draining and absolutely no fun. I am now a home health nurse and travel quite a bit. Just put in my application to the BSN program at Vanderbilt University and Tennessee State. So prayers are welcomed and appreciated  :D

I have probably left all the most important and vital things, but if I have left you curious feel freem to ppm me and ask... (that was a hint to get more PPM's  :lol: )

I guess I can be very happy with this community (I mean Nanny, and this forum). I think it might be the first and only one I found where the average age is over 20... now I guess I can be a kid myself sometimes, but still, I find it very hard to hit upon a 'normal' (well don't make me to define it  :roll:  ) community...
Being in IT, I guess I really should find entertainment that is not related to computers, but it's gotta be some kind of disease that got me. It is true, that I'm more comfortable talking to people on the net than in rl. But that's just me; anyway this might be the wrong thread to complain about rl problems. :))

Oh yeah, I was born in 77 not 76.. It's so kewl that I am not the oldest around. :) My friends are generally younger than me, with 1-2-3 years and I feel soo old. On 30th again I will feel very old. I don't like my birhtdays, others are happy and celebrate but I just want it to pass so I can forget about it.  :D
Was reading some people's 'confessions' about their education, mine is also interesting a bit, took longer than it should've. :)
I started college in '95 when I finished high school (math-physics), started to attend IT courses. After one year I failed miserably, it was a surprise that they actually expected me to attend classes and learn there. It was a pretty big difference, I mean after the high school, the new curriculum being so much in quantity and much more difficult. Well, six months of selling cement, tiles, lime, paint & stuff for a miserable salary at a small company convinced me that I better learn than do that for an entire life. :) So in '97 I started college again (actually together with Wolfy). Graduated in 2000, continued for more years some CS-math stuff, graduated again in 2003.. meanwhile started working in 2001 february I believe, as a web-developer.. after got kicked out for some reason (financial problems of the company) in January 2002, I started working for the same university as a system engineer (I found out meanwhile that I don't really like software development, as I was attracted to networks & that stuff) ... for almost two years. Starting Feb. this year I changed my job again, working for some company in Budapest. In the near future I intend to get a CCNA certification (networking stuff), perhaps CCSP too, and if I get CCIE then I'll never talk to you again. :D (just joking ofc).
Well just some bits of info about me. I don't have an interesting life, or at least I don't find it interesting; but who knows, this might change.
Now that you know me so well which rich Nannymudder wants to adopt me? I'll raise khornes or whatever for you if you do that. :)

I guess I might as well add that I, too, was born in '76 :). I am fast approaching my 28th birthday (april 29th). I feel like an old fart :)

Snort! Hack! Huh? Oh yes. I'm Canadian, married, have 3 critters (1 boy, 1 dog & 1 cat).  I am not an IT guy, but a civil engineer.  I love the outdoors, fishing, hunting, geocaching (www.geocaching.com) and anything generally under the open sky.

I was born in Scotland but I now live in the Great White North of Soviet Canuckistan.

I think it was a bit earlier that that, Yav, since, in 1999, when Sharky was first created, Yavathol was already a big, respected knight.

I'm 20 (soon to be 21). I'm a student at the Politechnics University in Bucharest, specialising in Computer Science. I have a special interest in networking and computer programming and that's the main reason for why I chose such a faculty.

I always try to find the fun in everything I do and I always try to make people smile.

And one of my greatest desires is to move to Sweden!  :D

Oooohhh....it seems I am the baby here. I am 17, born 1987.

I live in Dorset which is on the very south coast of England. We get the best weather here, if you like the sun, of course.  8)

I am currently studying Business and Economics, English Literature, Drama and Theatre Studies and Psychology at 6th Form College and I hope to study law at University.

I will be taking a year out from work/schools etc. next year and I will be travelling around Europe. So if any kind Nannymudder would like to put me up for a few days, i'd be very grateful indeed!  :D

I was born in Southern Cali in 1983. Take that you 70's people!  I have moved around a bit  but mainly in Cali.  I have been to over 30 states... lived in Utah and North Dakota (brrrrr! cold!).  I am currently outta work (BAH!) and I take one class at the college... (shhhhhhhh!).  I will be moving soon (yay! to all my east coast and european pals) to Pittsburgh, PA.

 I'm Bahamet's age and been around Nanny since 99. Loved it, love it, will love it forever first cause of the people and by no means last because of the great feeling playing it gives me :D.
 I'm Sharky's groupmate, same highschool before, same uni now, same major (Computer Science), same interests...same kind of insanity...hmm, are we the same person???
 Nah, but we've been together for 4 and a half years now and we decided to keep it that way!
 Things I like: good music, icecream, hiking, icecream, a good book, icecream, want to be a fantasy writer, icecream, and a CCIE and of couse own the Tacoma Icecream Parlour!!
