Spamfunet Nanny Forum

i just had a revelation God (Spamfu) talked to me. Why would we need nanny times when we could have daily spamfunet?

It's not like we have much of an alternative, last issue of the NannyMUD Times was January 2003 ;)

Heh. That'd be an interesting one. But, it would require logging off our virtual reality to read it ;) That might not be so bad depending on who you are and your status on the mud.  :roll: *grin* And, ofc, anyone online can read it...they just can't respond unless they are a member to forum. As Yavathol has already mentioned to me...he can access this site from his work, even though he may not be able to login inconspicously or at all to Nanny from work. It's easier to see a web page than MUD at some jobs.

Fortunately, I can do both from my job...or can I? ;)

Actually it had occured to me that his would be a great forum for NannyTimes - or at least one that's published ... well, simply published

Essentially, this is a great place to come for my Nanny fix during down time at work.  Especially since I can't idle as a wizard.

Is it my fault I have  a job that requires my attention?

Now if anyone thinks it is a good idea...

I can see if I can archive former issues of NannyMUD Times to the forum. I don't know, yet, how that will be received or how far back any archives, if there are any, go. Last I had known (or thought I had known), there may have been a way to get back issues...for nanny gc, ofc.

Ideas? Thoughts?

Now, about that cost in Nanny GC... can I pay that in installments from each character, and do you take NannyChecks?

I think the main issue is finding someone to run it again. I had helped at one time and it is very involved to run it. Currently, I don't have the time as I have full time job, this site/forum, and school which is demanding as well since this is the last quarter...woowoo...I miss it too. It was always fun to have it on a regular schedule.

I, too, miss the Nannytimes.  Or have, the times I was active enough to notice the lack.

I'd, at least, be willing to help with it, if there was actually interest in attempting to bring it back.  (Nanny seems quite slow, so I don't even know if there would be a point to it.)

For random note, the reason I haven't actually been in Nanny since my last reappearance is that I've been here, and cleaning old logs in the time I would be there.

This kind of attitude is causing slowness - giving up doing anything because noone else is doing anything.  It's going to take independant initiative to get the ball rolling again, and a willingness to continue creating even when people don't immediately fall in line in getting creative themselves.

I can still see my wizard banishment announcement in the most recent NannyMUD times.  That does make it seem dated. :)


I think a cool idea for the meantime would be to put into circulation older issues of the NannyMUD times, a sampling of NannyMUD history.  I would find that very interesting to read.

I should have read the whole thread, since if you read my last post you know I obviously had not read this.  Sorry about that.

I think my idea is the better implementation though, to see if they can be made available for purchase in game by players.  The question is whether it will be permitted.

We should just archive older versions of it here, that way this site could be used as a pre-play advertisement, like "Hey, look at what nanny is like, maybe you should try it"
But I'm not good at explaining things, so I probably explained that wrong, quite typically in character :P
