Here's an idea. I don't know if any of the members (aside from one who comes to mind immediately) would want to do this. A suggestion for Avatars might be a Nanny Specific category with perhaps Avatars resembling creatures from Nanny.

I think it'd be a unique addition to the avatar collection here.

Eeeeep. lepers are rotting, smell badly, are overall unpleasant... why should i draw one? :wink:

Kidding, i have a long list of todo, guess ill put lepers in that list too, although im not sure how will I manage to draw them while wielding arm as a weapon  :P

one suggestion a parody picture of khorne siting on his throne. instead of the "allmighty" khorne, put kurgan on that throne and have thousands of lepers crawling eager to take that throne from him....... or maybe not :lol:

I could use for avatar my portrait made by Lady C. It's just the curent one reprezents me ... besides gods gave me the power to take forms or as it's more common said to shape-shift.

this is not about avatars, but it's connected to suggestions about forum that's why i used this topic.

I'm thinking about educating people somehow about creating new topics.
I mean in the lost and found there was this topic "whatever happened to .."
and people posted and asked about different players. all fine by me. the problem is a few days later i just noticed two more topics on the same idea but they were asking about certain players. now i'm asking myself what's the use of those two new topics when the original one was exactly what they were looking for.

Well...if need be...i might be able to convince Spamfu to add a section on Topic choosing/picking to the FAQ...but I wonder how many people even really read it ;)

or move the 'wrong' topics into the right ones. or in the right section. or make some moderators who should take care of a certain board or more :D

Moderators may be a possibility in future...so far, i've only had to split one topic..I may split off the others soon as well...

Ladychris, your avatar is just great. I like it.
A portrait of a thousand or whatever lepers would be very hard unless you can draw them to have an average of 6.4 pixels each (80 x 80 = 6,400 pixels). That might look very artistic but you couldn't see the lepers on it. Even one would be hard to draw in 80 x 80 ...

I'm not sure I understand your talking about 1K lepers, but since you are already the 3rd leper mentioning that, i guess I'll have to paint one at least  :wink:  I doubt you will need my artwork though, your avatar looks just great, althout the guy in it doesnt look much as a smelly, rotting leper  :twisted:

Are there size requirements for the images we might like to use for our avatars?

The dimensions should be 80x80 and the size is 6144 bytes. The best avatars to have are jpg format because they are compressed. If you want to get technical...

Here is the reasoning:

A full 80x80 gif with 256 colors (which is 8 bits) is at most 6400 bytes.

A jpg can go 24 bit which means millions of colors. AND since jpg is compressed, you can get same image below 3000 bytes. This will reduce download times for those with less than fast connections (modems).

I want to keep this place bandwidth friendly :)
