It seems that real life has a habit of getting in the way of enjoying life.  This seems especially true as so many of us move on and make the mistake of graduating - leaving us little alternative to actually working for a living. 
This was my inspiration for the next question.

Hmmm... Last vacation was last year, the normal swedish summer vacation. We didn't do much though, took the car to nearby lakes, a couple of days in the archipelago, some trips to the nearast zoo... I think I MUDded some too ;)

I went to brugge (Belgium) and had a very nice time admiring this medieval town. If you could only let those cars dissapear, I'd have felt like a knight IRL for once!

Easter, spent it with my daughter and my parents, doing all the things that you do on easter.

Painting eggs, following a string of yarn, rolling up into a ball as you go along finding the treasure at the end of it. Dress up like a witch (not me, honest) and riding a broom with a kettle and stuff like that :)

We went to Disney World last year :D

I am no expert on Easter customs, but it seems to me it is celebrated quite differently in other parts of the world.

Trying to think back to my own non-working vacations, but that's quite a bit of history.  Did take some time over the weekend to go to a remote area and do some hiking along a river.

Maybe I can actually string together enough vacation time to actually go on a real vacation (I think I actually have to work some of my upcoming vacation).  You're descriptions have inspired me.

I havent had a vacation for ten years. During this summer I will have my first vacation. Four weeks in China!  :grin:

Well, so far this year I have spent a week in Montana (mostly Helena) and a week in Seattle.  :D

Me and the rest of the family is actually going to Spain on monday, staying near Torrevieja for two weeks. Hopefully it will work out great :) Guess I won't be able to touch any computers though... *brrr*

I hope you all have a great time  :D that's in Alicante, I have never been in Alicante myself. If you have a chance, visit Valencia. I was in Valencia years ago and liked it very much, and now it also has "la ciudad de las ciencias" a thematic park which looks great on photographs and tv.

My last vacation was in 2002 to Belize and was the second time going there. I am hoping to go again. I loved visiting Mayan ruins, snorkeling,and canoing. If you get a chance to go take it..
San Ignacio town is a great place to start out. The picture I posted is at Cahel Pech ruins just up the hill from town in walking distance. Late Jan early Feb is a good time to go the weather is moderate and there are very few bugs out.

Just to tell you I'm back... I'm back :)

We stayed for almost two weeks in Spain, in Orihuela just to the southwest of Torrevieja. Mostly we went to one of the nearest beaches, at La Zenia, which was a nice sandy beach, perfect for kids. Thanks to the wind there was also some nice waves which made it more fun to spend time in the wonderfully soothing water. We also did some trips, once to Alicante and once to Cartagena. Both worth the visits. We had a great time, and will probably go back and venture further out from Orihuela (for example to Valencia).

Amazingly it's about the same temperatur here in Sweden now.. But no Mediterranean Sea to dive into :(

Orihuela is the most famous village in Murcia, famous because of its farming and a poet that was born there: Miguel Hernández...sure there must be statues of him everywhere, arent there? :) I have never been in Orihuela myself, but I guess the old part must be charming.

If you go back, remember Valencia as a big city with old buildings and a HUGE aquarius in La ciudad de las artes y las ciencias that looks worth visiting :)
