Title: Where the blazes has Nanny gone?
Post by: Greatfull on June 03, 2005, 12:43:47 PM
Hey what's up with Nanny - I've been unable to get in for nearly 2 months.

I've actually tried to find other MUDs for my addiction but don't like the ones that I have tried thus far.

Suffering from major MUD withdrawl - Any update on when it will be here again?

Seems there is a problem on your end :(
NannyMUD (and all of Lysator) was unreachable about a week or so, after someone had cracked his way into the network, but NannyMUD is now up to par again...

Tried IP/port: 130.236.254.159 2000 ?
Can you 'ping 130.236.254.159' (either in a shell or in Windows at a command prompt)?
Perhaps your ISP doesn't allow non-standard ports like 2000?

Good luck!

In short, Nannys' dns isn't usable at the moment.

The old 'mud.lysator.liu.se' doesn't work right now, use the ip as listed above.

Come on! You claim you are Nanny addicted and yet you don't even know the ip by heart?

Bah! ( old telnet freak and keyboard's terror ... oh those attacks!)

Heh, when I suspect I have a DNS problem (can't get into www.thedailywtf.com or something), I normally use 130.236.254.159 to see if that's the problem, or if the connection generally is fucked up :)
