Title: Nightvision Post by: Kymn on April 27, 2005, 08:47:34 AM Anybody know any rings, amulets or cloaks that give nightvision on a permanent basis while wearing them?
Thanks Title: Nightvision Post by: Morild on May 04, 2005, 08:31:49 AM Ring og truth, and the light-ring, shimmering cloak and hmm..I know there are lots but I just forgot the names..
The lightring is great, is gives light even if you don't wear it on your fingers, great for some of my char ;-) Title: Nightvision Post by: Yavathol on May 04, 2005, 11:12:43 AM I haven't seen the light ring in a while, but I do remember that it gave some of the best light.
I'd also add to the list Heart of Ameno (amulet) Magical ring Also the Glowing Ruby which isn't worn but does confer light Title: Nightvision Post by: Aeneas on May 05, 2005, 11:50:05 PM I believe the dreamsword from Casada gives you nightvision while you wield. But I suppose that is not what you are looking for as a simyarin.
Title: Nightvision Post by: Kymn on May 09, 2005, 08:11:13 AM Thanks for answers :)
Your right Aeneas, looking for something that I as a simyarin can wear and see in the dark, since Darks with -9 light hanging around green really ticks me off ;) Title: Nightvision Post by: Yavathol on May 09, 2005, 10:00:23 AM Oops, Forgot to mention the ring of lies too.
Title: Nightvision Post by: romichete on May 10, 2005, 01:35:12 AM Try searching Longstrider's area, you might find a nice ring there, which if I'm right gives you +2 light. :)
Title: Nightvision Post by: Kymn on May 10, 2005, 04:14:16 AM Ring of lies, is it light source or nightvision?
Thanks again for all the light source suggestions, but it's nightvision I'm interested in, not light sources :) Title: Nightvision Post by: Yavathol on May 10, 2005, 10:42:23 AM light,
the only true nightvision that I can think of is the dream sword - and that is of no use to a Sim I'm afraid. However, it is possible to bear multiple light emitting items for increased effect. There is also one other item - a small gem that multiplies the amount of light in a room several times over. With the right item and that gem it would take about 3 darks at -9 to make it even dusky. Of course, that gem is quite difficult to get. Title: Nightvision Post by: Kherec on May 12, 2005, 10:26:19 AM Admittedly I haven't checked the new areas, but aside from the now-removed spectacles and dreamsword I can't recall anything else I know for a fact gives you continuous nightvision.
Some of the moonblades out there might give it, but same problem really - not suitable for simyarins, so no. Hopefully someone finds something, because you're not the only one who's interested in that Kymn :) Title: Nightvision Post by: Yavathol on May 12, 2005, 01:10:47 PM Quote from: Kherec Hopefully someone finds something, because you're not the only one who's interested in that Kymn :) Or, alternatively, someone (meaning a wizard) could create something... Title: Nightvision Post by: Escaflowne on May 13, 2005, 05:25:32 AM There is one nobody mentioned, but it is useless for a simyarin.
Title: Nightvision Post by: Carrion on May 13, 2005, 07:48:46 AM Quote from: Escaflowne There is one nobody mentioned, but it is useless for a simyarin. Alexii's? If not, that too is useless for a sim anyway :)(Btw, sorry to be drifting away from the topic: ring/cloak/amulet.) Title: Nightvision Post by: Kymn on May 13, 2005, 08:38:59 AM I know Brom has a helmet with nightvision, the one from Teodor the knight, or what he is named, but if I'm not mistaken it's limited to lower levelled players
Does Alexii got any nightvision except Sensitive Eyes spell in the tome? really hate that spell, annoying players favorite spell (since you go blind in normally light rooms for those who didn't know) Title: Nightvision Post by: Kymn on May 13, 2005, 08:40:40 AM Quote from: Carrion (Btw, sorry to be drifting away from the topic: ring/cloak/amulet.) Seem like more people could use nightvision, so lets just spill everything here ;) Title: Nightvision Post by: Kherec on May 13, 2005, 12:06:45 PM > Or, alternatively, someone (meaning a wizard) could create something...
If they are lazy, they would need to actually get it approved and put in the game too, in addition to creating it :) *is guilty of that* Title: Nightvision Post by: Smudge on May 20, 2005, 10:48:05 PM The Demon Call tome spell of Brom's will provide nightvision for a limited amount of time, without having the drawback of being blinded in light.
Title: Nightvision Post by: Fenix on June 07, 2005, 06:59:29 AM if you get to think light is just an anomaly, a provisory state of energy in her way from one state to another. Finally, the result will be equilibrium, wich, ofcourse, means darkness.
So ... you light addicted creatures, when will you settle down and accept the chaos and the silence? Btw, an item wich makes permanent darkness should be created too, so you all get to wear night'googles  this would be cool  Title: Nightvision Post by: Carrion on June 07, 2005, 03:33:03 PM Quote from: Fenix if you get to think light is just an anomaly, a provisory state of energy in her way from one state to another. Perhaps we should start a thread on that subject?!?!?So ... you light addicted creatures, when will you settle down and accept the chaos and the silence? Btw, an item wich makes permanent darkness should be created too, so you all get to wear night'googles  this would be cool  Title: Nightvision Post by: Fenix on June 08, 2005, 07:00:33 AM i must agree. Towelie(that's his name) IS the worst avatar ever.
He's even the worst cartoon character(always high saying stupid things & being always offtopic). That's why i think it fits just fine for me. Ah. almost forgot. bought myself a yo-yo. it's the most amazing thing ever. Really fun. Did you know that - In 1985 the first yo-yo was taken into space. - The first yo-yos were made from terra-cotta. - The first ever yo-yo competition was held in London in 1932 and won by a 13-year-old boy! - Yo-yo means, "come back" or "return". - The yo-yo is the second oldest toy in the world (a doll is the first!). Cool isn't it? Now ... Carrion ... THAT WAS OFF-TOPIC  Laters  Title: nightvision Post by: Coldiron on July 23, 2005, 04:17:43 PM btw the towel is ok with me....it's the "best thing an adventerer can own"
Dont forget the gloria. it's a 1 in weight and it's has some head protection. see you in NANNY Title: Nightvision Post by: Escaflowne on July 25, 2005, 06:44:32 AM Quote from: Escaflowne There is one nobody mentioned, but it is useless for a simyarin. Update: Said item is useful for a simyarin, since you only have to be carrying it for the nightvision to work, not wielding it (hint). Title: Re: Nightvision Post by: draculea on February 05, 2007, 09:23:21 AM Hmm... didn't Leo have a nice lill helmet that also gave nightvision ?
